2019 C300 - how to get one with leather
Hello, new to this forum and my first post. I am 90% there on buying a 2019 C300. I would like to upgrade to leather. When I asked the dealership about this, they said the C300 with leather is rare, and what is rarer still, to get it with the other options I might want (beige interior color, non-glossy trim, and pretty basic set of packages). Alternatively, I can wait 3 months for a custom order of car, which I don't want to do. Is that actually correct that only a custom order will make a beige leather interior possible? Seems odd that there aren't any leather interiors to be had. (and asking you guys in advance please not to tell me I should just get the MBTex). Thanks for your advice.

Frankly - Silk-Beige Leather is a Southern or Wes Coast thing - and very rare for Midwest
On a C300W4 4matic there are 2-3 between KY and CO - if that is the interior you want - you will need to either search South or West - or go Build-To-Order

That is good advice. I may just go with the MBTex after all, though I really like a leather interior.
Newbie question - how are you searching and finding the cars in leather? I've gone to the website cars dot com, and it's very difficult to search on there for a car with leather. Pls recommend other websites. Thanks!

MB-Tex is awesome - however with light color interiors (Leather or MB-Tex) you do run the risk of blue-jean-color-transfer which for some can be troublesome - MB-Tex is "scratch-resistant" for jean-rivets/appliques transI have a different system - and frankly with cotton-webbing backing material MB-Tex does not develop "scalding-hot-spots" like leather does.
My system is different ... mine looks from the inside.. you had a interesting situation - so I took the time to take a quick look to see what the real situation was... Turns out geographically dependent - different strokes for different folds/in different places.

I see your points about the silk beige leather. In that case, what about the saddle brown leather? I am thinking of the C300 in lunar blue with saddle brown leather- how do I go about finding that? I don’t see anything in that combo locally.

If you want sincere advice - since your main focus so far here is Exterior & Interior Color's - and Leather - you need go to a dealership one morning - sit down with a saleperson that has NetStar access and take 45 minutes to work thru some of your basic choices
On the combination you finally decide to have it either exist(s)(s) or it doesn't.
Metallic Lunar Blue is a awesome color for the C-Class - in the Midwest you need to focus on the C300W4 4matic model which the Central Region is strong on.
On interior - in the Central Region the vast majority of Metallic Lunar Blue C-Class have Silk-Beige MB-Tex Interiors - a few have Black MB-Tex interiors - and there are (6) on the ground between MN and OH that have AMG Saddle Brown MB-Tex interior between $51.5K and $53K MSRP - no Saddle Brown AMG Leather .
There are a few changeable C300W4 production slots open for end-April production - and these open slots will CLOSE FAST - and if you miss that you will be looking for 2020's down the road...

It really is annoying trying to get everything that you want without a custom build and order. I wanted white with burgundy interior and digital dash. Nothing in the southern region with burgundy interior, not a one!

I ranted on a thread once before the lack of lighter interiors in the Mercedes line....it's usually black, black and more black. Lighter colors are better in the summer and brighten up those dark, dark interiors of so many cars.

Build and order exactly what you want. Otherwise, you will get into your C300 every day and second guess yourself – “I should have ordered leather, I really wanted that other color”. Dealers order a car configuration they believe best fits what the customer wants in their geographic location. It seems you don’t fit into this. So, order it. I waited 3 months between order date and delivery on my C300. There are a few things that affect this time. Dealers can’t place an immediate order. They get a number of allocations from Mercedes to order cars. Dealers that sell a lot of cars get more allocations. If your dealer doesn’t have an allocation, they can call another dealer to see if they can trade for one, you can wait for an allocation, or go to another dealer. The allocations are on the dealer’s computer and they can tell you immediately if they have one or not. The wait is far from over once you get your allocation and your order is accepted by Mercedes. The leather and color you want may be on the constraint list. This means Mercedes only has enough from their supplier to fill a fraction of demand. You now enter a queue waiting your turn. A computer savvy salesperson can track all this on their computer and keep you informed on the constraints and status of the order. Eventually you will get a VIN number. This means all the parts (leather & color) for your car are in the pipeline to arrive at the factory just in time for assembly. Once you get your VIN you have to wait a few weeks for your production slot and then delivery time to your location. So, be patient if you decide to order a car.

I do plan to go to the dealership Monday after work. I just wanted to have some knowledge in advance. Now I do. I've also been on the mbusa website, which is now less confusing in the context of what I learned here.
