Ambient Illuminated Burmester Mid Speaker Covers DIY
Purchased from this seller:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Car-...004674123.html
I did the rear doors first.
1. Remove the rear door trim (PDF attached)
2. Remove the upper trim piece from the rear door trim. (PDF attached)
3. Remove the adhesive residue from the current speaker cover catch hooks and loosen it gently with a screwdriver at the four corner tabs.
4. Install the new speaker cover.
I added some soft adhesive rubber (amazon) to the four corners before installing the new cover (to prevent vibration noises at high frequencies)
....and also some hot glue to keep it solid.
5. Tap your wires and add JST connectors. (on aftermarket harness: brown = ground, white = blue color 12 volt, orange = orange color 12 volt)
6. Re-install everything, test and enjoy.

Dude, you have way too much time on your hands! Get outside and step away from the on-line purchasing. LOL

Very nice benzdude, looks great in the rear seats. I'll be interested in your application to the front, which is applicable to my situation. Have you noticed whether it is in sync with your ambient lighting when set in a multicolor mode? Do you have the 3 color mode? What is your accessment of the brightness?
By the way, I appreciate someone taking the time to test and install different lighting mods; very informative in the least. Some I absolutely love, and some I don't.That's what makes it nice when someone takes the time to experiment and do it, so we can all see.

Yes, it works with all 3 color modes. (The seller will ask if your car has ambient and the number of colors). I think it's just bright enough not over saturate the front cabin. I will be doing the fronts memorial day weekend.
Here is an edited preview of the front mid with all the other front lights.
(its running on a 9 volt battery in the picture, so it may be a little brighter on 12 volts)
Here are all 3 colors. (Mercedes Benz white is actually light pink. orange + white)

They look great. Did you by chance do a pictorial on how to attached them to the front doors like you did the rear? I'll need to order the 64 color version for my E450 CAB. They look plenty bright to me and seem to complement the vents as well. How long did it take you to attach them? How is the sync function on them?

Damn, i like it. i already have the tweeters in hand and after seeing your post about the vents i'll be purchasing today I was thinking of just putting the mids in the backseat because i was worried about it being too bright and saturated while driving, maybe a bit tacky but after seeing your pics im leading towards the whole package. I usually keep my lights on the solar color so i was wondering if you would be able to take a picture of the whole setup with the solar color? the picture you have of the mid with solar looks a bit off to me. Thanks a lot for your great posts, keep up the good work
