2020 W205 C300 Sedan Release Date?
#26
Agree but I don’t know how it works for MB imported from South Africa. Do they ship them after they are manufactured and store them in the US prior to model release?
If not maybe they need to rethink the logistics if a tariff deadline will hit while waiting for 2020 introduction.

What paperwork should I have by now?
With my 2020 build starting the 3rd decade of July, what paperwork should be sent to me for confirmation of vehicle options and pricing locked in?
I'm talking about internal order details and not a build sheet that I could do myself on the configurator.
Thanks.

Also, how close to build date are any modifications locked? In the latest unofficial build sheet the sales guy added front all season mats and wheel locks that weren't there previously.
One more question- If you opt for AMG package, isn't a spoiler included with that package? Or do you have to pay extra to get it?
Thx

Well my 2020 was built on 6/20 and is sitting at port, with the status of "B7 - Fact Ready to Ship". The direct statuses after production were "B50 - Produced Not Ship", followed by "B70 - At Port - No Ship Assignment", followed by "Z51 - PFD Removed". So it doesn't have a boat across the Atlantic or a Dealer ETA yet...but at least we can confirm 2020's are in production.
As far as I know there is no paperwork right now...all I'm receiving is a screenshot of the order status. I came up with my MSRP by adding up the numbers from the order guide...I was a little surprised that my dealer didn't do it, and that your dealer won't do it either.

I guess I’ll ask for a screen shot of status page. Really disappointed with customer service from salesman. He’s already made sale so no follow up from him.
Thinking of finding a different dealer with a modifiable order slot. Anybody know how close to build date changes can still be made?

If your car is a South Africa build..it'll board a ship to Germany then board another ship to either the east coast VPC or the west coast VPC ...depending on where you are located. I had a deposit down on a S Arican build last year and it was built in mid Oct but wasn't scheduled to dock in SoCal until late Nov early Dec. I canceled that order as I didnt want to wait that long and found a Vance build already on the lot.

Well an update on my car....it is currently on a boat headed towards Spain. It is supposed to hit the port in Eastern US on August 19th. So that's now 5 months from date of order just to get the car to port. I can't imagine MB holding these cars in port a day longer then necessary...the sales manager says they only have 2 C Class available for sale...they need cars.

I went to a MB dealership and the 2019 incentives/lease offers are quite aggressive. The 2020s are coming very soon (I’m in Arizona). They said the batch of 2020s they will receive are being held in LA and once MB announces officially the release, they will be on the lot in 2 days. Who knows when that will be, but in terms of the supply coming to the dealership, they are ahead of schedule. In terms of custom orders, that may take longer to arrive.

I think mine is on the Vance assembly line now- estimated production date was Aug 6th but dealer screen says July 24 Production Started and I have a VIN.
Can someone do a VIN lookup? Please PM me for number.
Thanks!

Did you also by chance get a Dealer ETA?

My Vance build completed 7/31 and is now status “D4- VPC Ready”.
Supposedly this is inspection prior to shipping.
Any further chatter on official release date?
Anybody out there that can do a full VIN look up?

It looks like my car has left Germany and is now on its way to Maryland....hopefully arrive by the 15th....so I guess it may be another month or more before I actually see it :-(

Mine said he thought they were already released and he’d check. That was last week so just proves he doesn’t know s***

I’m in the same boat. My AMG C43 was a 3rd decade July build and has been sitting in Vance for over a week. My dealer told me it wouldn’t ship until Mercedes officially announces the 2020 model and so I wait. So frustrating.

When did you get the car? Also, how many well equipped C300's were out there? When I picked up my current car 3 years ago they had to get the car from a dealer 600 miles away. I just wonder if there is any stock....19% of MSRP though sounds awesome....and I'm afraid I'll get no discount on my 2020 when it is finally released. Looks like it should be in the US Friday.

Unfortunately my local MB dealer is one of those that doesn't negotiate on price. To top it off when I ordered the car the order guide didn't even exist (I think I ordered on the week, if not the first day that 2020 ordering opened up); prices for what I was ordering wasn't available. I had asked multiple times though whether my lease amount would be any different from what I'm currently paying and I was assured it would not be. Thankfully though I am purchasing through USAA services, so what the dealership can charge is as far as I know, is restricted.
