So, there's a huge design flaw with the w205 wiper blade system. I spent some time detailing my C43 today and I had my wipers in the raised position to clean and coat the windshield. While I had the glass cleaner out I decided I'd wipe off all the 360 camera lenses too, but you have to turn the car on to get the rear camera to pop out. Despite the wiper switch being in the off position, as soon as I hit the power button, the wipers returned to their resting position, despite being up, which brutally scrapes the wiper arms against the lip of the hood, completely removing the paint. Does anyone know of a good way to fix this damage? I shouldn't have to have the whole hood repainted, right? I have the front of my car covered in xpel ppf, but the wipers ripped right through it... If this can be fixed with a paint touch up pen or something similar, do any of you know a good place to get the supplies I need?
Lunar Blue - tough since a "brush-on" or "dab-on" touch up will be darker/not-so-good - fortunately where it is you will be the only one that knows it's there.
A car touch-up guy should be instructed to smooth out the chip and hand-touch up - frankly about $75 so you don't have the get frustrated about yourself when it comes out not-as-nice yourself.
Hood redone would need to be done by a "good shop" or with that you will not be happy - like $350/$400 - but it has to be shot by a competent shop perhaps referred to by your dealer (but not setup with the dealer)
I had similar damage caused by the windscreen wiper. I used the tough up paint and turned out okay. You can tell if you look every closely and know exactly what you're looking for.
I use Doctor Colorchip. Pretty simple to use and looks decent. I have polar white so not sure how the lunar blue will be. Plenty of youtube videos on Doctor Colorchip you can check out. BTW i did the same thing with my wipers once.
Here is something else you should NEVER do...…..Don't open the driver's door while in drive.
I was in line at a fast food place, just got my windows tinted, opened my door (since I could not roll down the window) to pay, and the tranny slammed so hard I thought it was going to fall out!
Car wash operators also sometimes move cars to be dried after a wash with the front door open and their leg hanging out. That's why I never send my C43 coupe to a car was.

I could be wrong but I thought the car automatically shifts to park if you open the door with the engine running. Driving with your foot out the door seems like a liveleak video waiting to happen

Still blaming the car for your failure. Always the victim. As you can see from the responding posts, that others have made this same mistake. The difference is they don't blame the car, or engineers.Try and learn from this.
