Well damn it. I had my GLC door wiring harness (2535409609 $25) ready to convert my DIY one to 3 color ambient.

BTW that's not plug and play. You will need to do some soldering.

Pro Tip you can test the leds before installing using a 9 volt battery, brown wire should be ground (-). blue = blue light (+), orange = orange light (+) I assume.

Ordered mine today. $175
I still assume I will not need to cut or solder something to my existing cable tree... since it say plug & play

$175????? I thought it was $137?

Chinese DIY skill level is high, so "plug and play" could mean soldering required.

Also, If you look at Torbenks photos, that black wiring harness connector doesn't fit any MB plug near the center console. Good Luck

Any tips on how to remove the trim? Does the screen need to be removed?

The seller tells me that it plugs between the plugs of the OEM ambient light, so you should not solder anything. Hence plug and play. Of course you need to remove some screws and so on, but come on...

And actually I think the plug will fit in my retrofitted ambilight.

Which seller? Kerdie Liang from Facebook?
Or link above?

Plugs should fit in your existing ambilight plugs.

I've done ambient 3d tweeters, ambient mid speakers and all ambient vents on my car and the sellers always say "should fit standard Mercedes plug", but they never do. Maybe i didn't look in the right places?

Also, the soldering was not a big deal because i only had 3 wires to figure out.

Actually, my 3d tweeters were plug and play. They came with a small black control box attached, which plug into the door controller.

The rest all came with those tiny black connectors. I have a nice collection of them.

I must've made a mistake.

Why would you cut these plugs when the harness is plug and play?

The plugs from the passenger side ambient light will fit the plugs you show in the photo!

Yes, as I said, all the Chinese ambient kits I received came with those black connectors, but I never found were they would plug in, so I cut them off and made my own connection to the Mercedes wires.

Let me know if you find where they go and I will kick myself.

OMG! Please don't tell me you did that whole PDF. Oh Man, that's a lot of work.

BTW, That kit is for a car with no factory ambient package from Mercedes. My car already has factory ambient leds in the console, along the doors, in the ash tray, foot-wells, roof light, etc

Also, You can clearly see that you need to insert the big blue plug into the door controller #6 port (that's where my 3d ambient tweeter is tapped) and the console lights get power from inserting those pins into an already existing Mercedes door harness.

So NO KICKING Needed.

The good news is if you've already done this complicated install on your car then YES, you will have a 3 pin Chinese black connector in your console to tap into.

Otherwise, no original Mercedes factory ambient connector will work.
