Lowered C400 Wheel Fitment Guide

I'm a little bit of a wheel junkie and love swapping wheels and playing around with fitment and feel like this might be helpful to W205 owners that plan on lowering their cars and are unsure of what specs to get. My car is significantly lower than stock (about 50mm) so if you're at stock ride height most of the setups I'm gonna post are gonna poke and won't fit as nicely, this is mostly just for guys that plan on lowering their cars but I'm sure it can be helpful to everyone. I've always used willtheyfit.com to compare specs of wheels and it's a very helpful tool, if the wheels you want are different specs than my setups you can easily type in both and it will tell you how much more it will poke or sit in.

*NOTE: My rear fenders have a very minor roll, this added maybe 1-2mm of clearance. Also my car is equipped with Airmatic and I have a lowering module.

First setup and probably my favourite, Vossen VFS2

19x8.5 ET29 225/40/19
19x10 ET41 255/35/19

Next up, Niche Milan

19x8.5 ET35 225/40/19
19x9.5 ET35 255/35/19

This rubbed in the rear before I rolled my fenders

Forgestar CF10

Decided to switch it up with this set and run much wider tires with lightweight wheels. Seriously transformed the performance of the car in corners I would highly recommend going this route.

19x8.5 ET33 245/35/19
19x10 ET48 275/30/19

There was still about 4-5mm of room in the rear and I think you could get away with an ET30 up front if you want it to be flush.

Stance SF01

19x8.5 ET35 245/35/19 SQUARE

Rocked this for a bit but ultimately didn't like the non-staggered look.

Finally my new winter setup

OEM CLS AMG wheels.

19x8.5 ET30 225/40/19
19x9.5 ET31 245/35/19

Newest setup:

Vossen VFS1
19x9.5 ET40
19x9.5 ET30
245/35/19 all around.

Decided to try a wider setup in the front, This clears the front struts by only a few mm's. I tried 9.5 ET45 and it did NOT fit. This is about as tight as you can go to the front struts without touching them.

Hopefully this post was helpful as I've found it very hard to find information about what will and will not fit on this car!

Feel free to add photos of your cars with the wheel specs

On the Forgestar CF10, did you run into any clearance issues with the suspension? Also how much camber do you have in the rears if any?

No clearance issues at all, camber is approximately 2 degrees in the front and 3 in the rear because of how low I am.

Okay you're definitely the right person to ask Dimitrius! I'm looking to switch from the stock 18s (style 782 staggered setup) on my stock-height C400 to the 19" C43 style twin-spokes. I assume the 19x7.5 offset 33 fronts and 19x8.5 offset 52 rears would be a perfect fit, but the non-staggered setup (19x9.5 wouldn't)?

Sorry for the super late response, I just noticed your reply. My new setup is actually a 19x9.5 et40 square set up. It clears the front suspension by a few mms. Any higher offset and it won't fit. If you can get some spacers you can make it work.

So I have the following wheels 19x9.5 42 offset rear, 19x8.5 40 offset front.

Tires 235/35R19, 255/30R19

Do you think this could work on a W205?

Resurrecting this thread.

On your winter CL wheel set up, did you run into fitment issues on the rears? I’m also running a very low w205 and am looking at some options. One I like has 35et front and 30et rear. Any feedback? Thank you!

Anybody know if 18x10 +40 will fit in the rear with 275/35-18 tires?

I'm trying to put together a "drag pack" for Dragstrip only use.

Looking at the Weld 18x10 5x112 wheels.

Are you one air suspension or springs. If I remember correctly the C400 came with the option for the air ride.

For me, my car was on H&R springs since the 450/43 AMG didn't have the option for air ride.

My rear is 19x9.5 +45 on 265/35/19. No spacer in the rear as it's fitted perfectly
As you can see the front is also flush but it also has a spacer because this brand I couldn't get the closes offset to the stock wheels but the looks was spot on 19x8.5 +35 on 235/30/19
