I have a 2016 C300 that started making a horrible rattle noise that sounded like it was coming from the headliner. I reported the issue to the dealer the last time it was in for service and they couldn't find this issue and said to bring it back when it got worse. I could never isolate the issue for several months until this weekend. There were two clips that appeared to come off of whatever they were attached to and were just bouncing and rattling between the rear of the headliner and roof.. I've searched and have been unable to identify the part number or figure out how to reinstall them. I've included photos of one of the clips - they are both identical. Anyone see these before or have this issue?

My 2015 C300 had a horrible rattle in the back that was worse when cold out. Seemed to go away when warm. Dealer couldn't figure it out. Ended up being the headliner along the top of the rear window. Never saw these clips. I just stuffed felt strips in there and the rattle gone. Horrible design.
Thanks, I have the same rattle and after checking have the same clip in my hand. My question for you is, have you ever had your sunroof worked on? For us we are going off lease in a few weeks so I'm not going to work on it.
The headliner in my 2016 C350e just started this very annoying rattle.
Ugh; it’s so annoying. I assume it’s the clips that have come loose or unglued after enough jolts and/or the extreme summer heat where I live. Guess I’ll stop by the local dealership and see how much they want to charge to address it. 😕

I have the same issue with my 2016 C450. After hearing the rattling sound from the headliner in the back, I tried to use fingers to explore the gap between the roof and the headliner. Guess what? I pulled the same part out - 5078627. Here is the picture of a used headliner from eBay
It looks like this part should be glued to the headliner but somehow the glue dried out so it detached from the headliner. I plan to use a strong 3M adhesive tape to tape it back, but the issue is the gap between the roof and the headliner is very small. How did you solve this issue after all?
