18X7.5” Wheel weight

Anyone know what the OEM 18x7.5, 18x8.5” wheel weights are? I’m looking to upgrade my wheels on my iridium silver c300 but want to make sure that the weight of the new wheels is less than OEM.

the client is always right! We can have 99% of a C63s if he has light wheels!

For the two geniuses above, I’m not looking to turn a C300 into a C63. Just wanting to ensure that I don’t put something on the vehicle for cosmetic reasons that will be a detriment to performance. Any actual answers appreciated.

Sorry, but your question is silly. There won't be a performance difference. I would look into Enkei MAT Forged wheels. I can't believe the prices folks pay for OEM wheels in the market place. INSANE!

I currently have the 18” wheels posted above. I was looking for an aftermarket set but want to ensure that whatever aftermarket wheels I get will be lighter than stock. Aftermarket weights are easy to find. OEM takes a bit more digging. I could always remove it from the vehicle but I was hoping someone might know them.

it has no effect on performance. Besides, knowing the stock weight doesn't matter because in order compare, you need following information as well:

tire weight
percentage of tread remaining
balancing weight mass and location
average angle of driving surface

this are the information you need to calculate the effect of rotational mass on acceleration. Just trust us that it is insignificant.

first thing you are going to do is put wider tires. so the overall package will weight the same!

Found one for sale and asked the owner to weigh it. He said it came in at over 40lbs. 20lbs is about where I want to be at. That would be a net weight savings of about 80-95lbs, which, given the rotating weight, would be around a 160-190lb reduction. I think I’ll stick with 18s. Had 19s on my Infiniti and it was a bit too aggressive for a daily driver. The lighter weight does make a noticeable difference in acceleration/ deceleration. I didn’t realize the OEM wheels were that heavy.

According to this site the 7.5 is 32lbs.

Hmm. Not sure why the different numbers. 32 is more of what I would expect for a cast Aluminum 18” wheel. Still a benefit to dropping down to 20, but not as much. Thanks for the website link. They have all the OEM wheel weights listed there.

40 lbs sounded too high so I did a little searching. Don’t think the weights are spot on on that site but close enough. For example it lists the 8.5 at 31lbs. I would think the wider wheel would be heavier.
