2015 c300 4MATIC brake pads and disk
Hello, I currently owned a CPO 2015 c300 4MATIC with 38K miles and I recently took her to get the 5 year service. It went well, they told me everything that was wrong with my car and almost everything was covered. Except the break pads and disk, they told me that they were going to be replace soon because they were on the yellow marker, the problem is that they are charging me about 700 to replace them. Now, I know that break pads and disk are something you don't want to cheap out but, I was wondering if I could get more option from you guys, since I don't know much of good brands and their reliability. Thank you for your time.

Brake pads and rotors are not a warranty item, I'd take it to an indepent shop and have it done for half that cost. It won't void your warranty. Just an FYI, I'm at 112,000 mlles on my 2016, original brakes.

Damn that a lot! I don't know why I need new breaks though if I drive quite carefully, I don't like to push her hard. I've got issues ever since I got the car like a mild vibration in the steering wheel and a noise when breaking, but the dealership kept telling me that there was nothing wrong with the car. Maybe it was because the car was previously used in a rental fleet.

I would have to agree with your statement, for some reason fleet cars tend to get more beatings than personal cars. In the end, I need to replace my breaks, I'll search for an trusty independent shop around my area to see if I can fix her as soon as possible.

Brakes for my vehicles are nearly 3 times this amount at the dealerships near me. I had an Indy do the brakes on my C450 for a slight savings but that was mostly because I wanted to upgrade the pads.

$700USD for both front and rear brakes is a bargain. No need to find an Indy shop, just do it at the dealership. If the $700 quote is just for one end of the vehicle then maybe look elsewhere.

Rear brakes do go, it happens w/ disc brakes.
The stock rotors are pricey, as they are those high tensile sheet metal hub design vs regular. Powerstop makes a kit for all 4 wheels for much cheaper - if you don't care to maintain that factory design rotor which is pricey to replace. You can search yourself and check pricing on the 2 or 4 wheel kits.

powerstop has been around - I plan to put their stuff on my car when it's time. They are standard rotors vs. the Mercedes design which is $$ - up to you at the end of the day.
