I used to get a "ding" when I was running low on fuel. Now it just shows up on the screen. Does anyone know how to set the alert to sound?

Ha.... I did check it, it must be well hidden because I couldn't find anything.

 

What fuel level triggers the warning? I've gotten down low enough to have just 2 dots/bars lit up and my remote start failed due to low fuel. I would think the low fuel remote start failure should probably be equal to the low fuel warning in the car?

 

The manual doesn't mention any warning sounds.

 

Dad alert, you really shouldn’t let the tank get to 1/8 tank of gas. Not good for the system. With that said, mine has gotten quite low before and o never heard a alert.

 

If I recall correctly - for Remote Start cutoff is lower than 5 gals (kindof high but that's the way it is) ,,

I "think" the Low Fuel Warning is linked to a calculation - like last fuel econ average where MB was shut off - divided into amount of fuel at startup - and the trigger is like estimated 75 miles remaining... the new MBUX system does it that way too

"Low Fuel" has always been a message on the cluster - no "dinging".

 

Previously had 2012 c350 and it was not the digital gas gauge.. when it gets down to 1 highlighted slash how many miles do you have? It that goes off does it give you any extra miles until completely empty (hopefully no one experienced that).. not hijacking thread of original post but saw this and thought I would ask. Thanks!

 

Mercedes calls it "Reserve Fuel" warning.

I really wish it made a noise, because i always get concerned when i finally notice that yellow light is on. How long has it been on? How long do I have?

 

I get TWO alerts. They both come on at the same time. I believe that there is a loud "bong," but I can't swear to it. One alert is the lighted small, yellow gas pump logo on the instrument panel and a prominent "Low Fuel" alert message in the center of the panel. The second alert takes over the entire COMAND screen and asks, "Do you want to search for fuel? (Yes/No)." When the driver presses "OK" on the steering wheel, the "Low Fuel" alert goes away (but not the lighted gas pump logo). The COMAND alert goes away when the driver selects "Yes" or "No." Obviously, cars that do not have COMAND as an option will not display the second alert.

 

on my 2003 C320 coupe, it shows how many miles lift until 0.
on w205, it just shows low fuel when at the last gallon, i always get anxiety when it doesnt show how many miles left.

 

On my 2015 C300 Luxury the low fuel warning gives me at least 60 miles. That's about 2 1/2 gallons. Your estimated number of miles remaining is available on your instrument panel at any time (not just when you have a Low Fuel alert). Hit "Home". That's the little house logo on the left side of your steering wheel. Then hit "Trip", if you are not there already. Use Up arrow or Down arrow to bring up Range (as well as several other calculated trip numbers).

 

I'm not aware of a setting that turns off warning tones. I don't usually let my tank go that low, but I'm pretty sure I get a warning tone in my 2019 C63S.

It warns when the tank has reached the reserve fuel level, which is stated in the owners manual. At least for the 2019, tank capacity is 17.4 gal and the reserve fuel level is 1.8 gal for all models except the C63 and C63S, so about 10% of the tank. For the C63 and C63S the reserve is 2.6 gal or about 15% of the tank.

it shows how many miles left when low fuel just showed up like 60 miles left.
when you at the last gallon, it WONT show how many miles no matter what you press.
i dare you show me a photo that shows 10 miles or 15 miles left, it wont.

Yes, now I see what you mean. I have seen that logo. Indeed, the W205 does not show mileage remaining when one is "running on the fumes.".

 

Funny enough my car went into reserve fuel warning today. No tone and the range shows 54 miles. My guess is reserve fuel will give 55 miles.

I hit "Low Fuel" yesterday. No audible warning, alerts on the instrument panel and the COMAND screen, Couldn't miss those visual alerts though, and they have to be turned off manually.

 

keyword is anxiety.
i get anxiety when it doesn't show how many miles left.
i know my destination is only 10 miles more and i know i have a gallon left but i still get anxiety when it doesn't show how many miles left.

 

But even if it did show, it would just be a best guess.

You are supposed to fill up asap when the light comes on.

 

Like anything else, if you can't change up the notification you sometimes see it but just hit ok and forget about it, especially when you drive a lot. I got the blinking low fuel mark this past week and I was in the Boonies, Luckily I found a gas station about 10 miles down the road. I figure I have 25 - 30 miles when it starts blinking.

 

Right around 75 miles I got the low fuel message and I was able to watch my Range keep dropping as I continued to drive. I ended up filling it up, but nothing indicated that I couldn't just keep driving and watch the range keep on dropping and dropping...

 

is that running on the LAST gallon?
on the LAST gallon it WONT show the range anymore nomatter what you press!
