Dashboard Rattle w/Video
There is a dashboard rattle that is driving me insane. Over certain types of rough payment, it sounds like a handful of marbles vibrating in my dash. Does anyone else experience a similar rattle? Rattle starts at 0:13

Sounds like overhead console noise or pano roof creaking from back. Also, check if your dash isn't hit the glass where they come together in front.
Have a friend drive over a bumpy road while you listen.

I used a MB tool to pull them out. About 10 of them.
Every now and then when I have the AC on high, another one will suddenly pop up and have to be removed.
Apparently, the previous owner had a habit of shoving parking tickets in that spot and not removing them.
I just found another one yesterday.

BTW the ashtray rattles even when empty.

Yup I'm doing the ashtray delete / mat replacement because of that too...

I removed my display so many times it began creaking at the bottom. I used tessa tape between trim before screwing it back on.

Ashtray is definitely a starting point. I store coins in mine, and on certain pavement surfaces they rattle like crazy. If I press down on the ashtray insert the rattle stops. Funny, sometimes if you know what causes the rattle it doesn't bother as much.

I had my '19 in for its A service and my biggest issue was a dashboard rattle and door creeks. The dashboard rattle turned out to be the plastic cowl that attaches to the windshield by the wipers. Fortunately, it rattled when I took the service manager out for a ride. It took a technician 2 hours to find it, so they said. The door creek was fixed by removing the door card and applying felt tape.

My '17 Edition 1 Coupe is creaking like an old man's knees! I had to come in here to see if I was the only one suffering. I'm dropping this puppy off at the dealer ASAP. I can't take it any more

Two metal braces run from the fire wall out to the wings. The bolts will be loose if tested with a decent size ratchet. Undo all four, for good practice silicone spray the bolts. Then do all four up super tight. It is not that these rattle when loose, but rather it allows engine bay twist which then rattles the plastics together around the window and dash inside the car.

Tighten this two #10 bolts to stop cracking noise behind the dashboard when driving irregular roads at slow speeds or when stressing the chasis rigidity in slow movements, like starting to climb a hill with one wheel before the other
