‘15 W205 backup camera module help

I brought my car in for service to check why my backup camera sporadically works and then doesn’t work. They told me that the backup camera module is going but it’s not covered under my CPO warranty. It’s about $460 for the part and labor....

If anyone could help me out, I’d appreciate it.

- Is this actually not covered under warranty ?

- Is the amount they’re asking right? I don’t have a part # to try and check.

- Where is the module located? And can it be done by myself? Is it plug and play ?

Thank you !

So I was able to get the dealer to give me a part #. It’s 222-900-09-05 - Rear camera control module.

I also looked up what the CPO warranty covers and it says verbatim, “Electrical System: Control Modules”. So I’m not sure why this now isn’t being covered.

Look buddy - Mercedes Customer Care (800) 367-6372 call them in the morning with your VIN# - dealer name - and reference Service ticket/invoice # and tell them the situation - Customer Care will open a case and give you the case# - they will reach out to your dealer - and this "should" get straightened out - or at least get cheaper or no charge

Check the wiring loom around the boot hinge, there is not enough slack in it and the wires can snap affecting boot opening, camera door and number plate lights.Easy fix if that's what it is and free.

Yes, everything was figured out. Called corporate and called the finance manager they wrote up my warranty and they both said this is a covered part. After relaying this to the dealership I had my vehicle at, they finally agreed to cover the part..... because they were supposed to in the first place.

Hi buddy, were you able to locate where the Rear camera control module is located in the car (Part number 222-900-09-05). I need to change it as well on my wife car (W205 C300), it is out of warranty. I have followed the wiring from the back up camera and removed a lot of trim (trunk area and cabin area) but so far no luck. I know how the part looks like,

Thanks in advance!
