Yes, I tapped everywhere and nothing happened. I will try again today. I dropped a screw in the dash and I need to find it.
I also need two extensions for the USB ports and might have to cut a small square hole to feed the usb and 3.5mm audio jack into the armrest box.
Boot Animation and splash screen loading is as simple as plugging in a thumb drive.
Thumb drive should be FAT32, Less than 32GB and files need to be in an \OEM folder.
I will get a fancy MB animation soon.
Found two defects after removing the screen protector.
Not sure I am a fan of this "BLUE RAY" coating, seems to produce more glare than not and looks bluish and hazy in direct light. (a screen protector should fix this)

There's a way around that too, in an install video he takes the 3 or so screws apart from the silver box, unplugs the internal jack, feeds it through and then reconnects it and screws the box back together

I don't see any existing holes form under the center console to inside the box. But I will look again. I ordered nice looking 1 ft usb extensions.

There isn't - from memory it tucks up between the plastic trim and the carpet. There isn't enough room to feed the whole box thru but when it's dismantled the internal jack can be fed in and reassembled in the console.

BTW, I don't need to feed the silver box through anything. It just plugs into the existing USB ports (in the arm rest) and has a 3.5mm audio in jack on it.
They included a 3.5mm male to male extension cable to plug into the display audio out jack.
The only things that need to be routed are the two additional usb ports (from the display) and the 3.5mm audio out jack.
Wow that does look amazing!! How difficult is the install process please? (Bear in mind I am pretty incompetent with these things).
Thanks again for this thread, I am close to pulling the trigger on this - just need to decide if I need the 12" or the 10" version.

benzdude - thanks for posting this. I had bought an early model last July and sent it back because I didn't feel it was ready for "prime-time" but I like the model you have now. Does it sit too high? I know you had previously wondered. Also, how's your carplay experience? I currently have an aftermarket module but it stops working when the whether gets cold and stops the backup camera from working so I need to upgrade before the winter hits here.
matt.jessop - personally I don't think the install is hard, just a little time consuming. There are videos out there so i'd suggest watching those and seeing how comfortable you are. It's mainly just screws and wire harnesses that need to be disconnected. Routing the cables is a bit tricky but if you look online there are plenty of details on how to do it without a lot of stress.

The install is fairly easy (plug in stuff), but takes long due to all the cable routing and console + radio disassembly required. I worked slowly to not damage anything.
I also wrapped ALL of the (in dash) cables with Tesa tape to avoid adding new rattles in my dash.
Just plan your install before hand and find spots to place the GPS, mic, 4G antenna.
I routed the GPS through the dash and out the passenger side panel near the door, then up to the window (at the sun shade level)
TIPS:
1. After removing the center console, the internal vent assembly (at the three circle holes) can be moved out of the way to allow easier cable routing.Just gently pull down on it. (check 6:46 in the video below) Just make sure the cables are sitting in front of the vent assembly BEFORE placing it back in position.(do that last)
2. The display cables should come in through the bottom square hole in the mount and NOT through the holes in the back. (I wasted 30 minutes figuring that out)
3. Make sure to open the screw hole covers on the back of the screen BEFORE securing it on the mount and plugging in the cables. They flip down from the TOP. (another wasted 30 minutes)
4. You have to transfer the two existing screws from the old screen to the new mount. Test the screws in the holes BEFORE putting the mount in the dash. My screw holes were to tight and had to be drilled a tiny bit bigger to allow the screws to screw in easily. Also, the OEM mount has clips to hold the screws in place during install/removal.
The aftermarket mount doesn't hold the screws in very well and I had one screw fall into the dash while installing the mount.
***To avoid this, just turn each screw in place until it is solid (not loose), but also NOT sticking out the bottom of the mount too far or it will scratch the base when you push it into the dash.
5. You may need a routing wire puller to make routing cables in the dash easier. Example :
6. When placing the screen on the mount you need to push it straight in at the top level and then push down until it locks in place. There are tabs that grab the screen and hold it in place. Then screw in the provided silver screws (the go inside the flip down covers).
Video instructions of a screen install (steps are basically the same)

I am torn on whether it sits too high. This picture is a bit biased because I had to hold the phone low to capture the bottom of the base. I can't see it from the drivers position.
I almost forgot about carplay or android auto tests. Plus, I don't own an iPhone. I also need to do a Bluetooth test.
BTW, I noticed that the "Dashboard" widget seems to lag at times(stays at 0 for a few minutes) before it starts displaying proper MPH and TACH readings. I will keep an eye on it.
Looks amazing. So honest question - is the 12.5 a bit too big or are you 100% happy with it ? I am trying to decide on that or the 10.2. I watched the video you suggested and am comfortable with all that.
Thanks again for all the tips and videos etc, you are making this much easier

It's huge, but i like it. But that's me.
Save some money get the 10 inch.
....But if you want a gigantic screen on your dash then...
