I reset Command and the Android screen and still no sound. I plugged in USB AX adapter into USB multimedia 1. When I switch to that I see it is playing something.
Confident fiber cables are plugged in to HU.
I see weird behavior with mut econtrol. First time into NTG5 it doesn't work. I then go back to the Android. Then when after return to NTG5 it works. Kind of stumped unless it is a fuse. Connectors on back of screen seem locked.
Guess I will head over to Discord. BTW I have V2.3.5 of firmware. Screen seems very responsive.
If you can get audio from the MB side (with the screens harness connected to the head unit) then your optical is plugged in correctly.
If you are using the usb aux, then you need to make sure the MB head unit is first set to media 1 or media 2 before going to Android side. The connected media option should say "USB AUX" on the screen. On the Android side use the music player to verify audio. Also check the Android audio settings. Make sure its at least 50% volume.
BTW when you switch to USB AUX on the head unit, it will look like its playing something, but its not. Thats just to allow the audio to passthrough from andriod side.
Play something from the MB side, verify you hear audio, set the volume level. Then set the HU to "USB AUX". Tap the screen to switch to Android. Check Android volume in settings. Then go to music player and play a test track.
Embarrassing issue. I removed the Android harness and reconnected OEM and optical cables. I again had sound from the radio.
I then carefully reconnected the android harness and optical cables. Sound worked on the radio and Android. Must have been just a bad seating of harness connectors.
I had plugged in the USB AUX when troubleshooting. Just for grins I tried the AUX in my head unit (Plugged Audio Out to Audio In with Android harness.) It works great!
Of course I will get no auto-switching. But I didn't have auto-switching on my CarPlay box, so I will survive without it.
The optical connector doesn't securely click into the Android harness like it did in OEM. I may need to put some insulating wedge in there or small piece of plastic to hold it tight.

For auto audio switching:
make sure you are on usb aux (mb side). Hold down the favorites button (next to volume roller) and add usb aux favorite to position 5. Then go into android, settings, system, aux position. Set aux position 1 to 5 and aux position 2 to 0.
Make sure auto aux switching is ON in factory settings. Code is 1314.

My bad, "No function to save to" just means you have too many favorites. Just delete one or two existing favorites, then you can add a new one. Damn you Mercedes!

I downloaded one of the animations from the link you posted. Can't seem to get the boot animation to run. It does display the new slash image but not the bootanimation.zip. I did read they can't be compressed, but I assume they are not compressed.
Put it on a Fat32 USB key in the OEM folder. Just splash.img and bootanimation.zip were in the folder. I did a reset of the screen.
Any ideas?
I checked discord but animation query didn't find anything other than they can't be compressed zip files.

Did you download the correct resolution file for your screen?
Also, when you plug it in, you should see a message that says something like "boot animation loaded". Then restart.

I have a Mekede N400 unit i have installed that wont turn off 4 out of 5 times when i turn the car off and lock it Having to pull the power out of it. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Have read somewhere that maybe reinstalling the firmware & mcu may help, but got no chance of sourcing the original files from Mekede. Hoping there may be a simpler fix??

I've only had that issue one time and it happened right after I reconnected my car battery. All I had to do was push the reset button (top hole on the left side)
Not really sure what's going on with yours. Maybe check the wiring and also harnesses behind the screen. Disconnect and reconnect the quad locks.
Did you make any DIY edits to your factory config or system files using ADB?

Figured out the issue with boot animation not loading. At least I got it to load. I had put both splash.img and bootanimation.zip in the OEM folder. it appears it doesn't load load the bootanimation.zip if there is another file in the folder.

If you want to use navigation on the Android screen OS you need to connect the GPS antenna and place it. Placing it behind the mirror on the windshield is relatively easy. If you plan on using Mercedes navigation or your phone navigation it isn't needed. I mostly use CarPlay, but I connected and routed the GPS antenna anyway.

I connected both antennas to the back of the screen. (you need them)
GPS was routed through the dash and up the passenger side pillar, to the top right corner of my windshield.
I'm getting this also, seller just sent me an update for MCU dated 13.11.2020 which I'm going to install tomorrow.
First of all he asked me to try the different display types, of which none of them resolved it. It sometimes work fine, sometimes I get the colours or green lines.
Any luck with yours? I updated mine to the latest MCU and firmware version. Still get the occasional green screen. I suspect the corruption to be a hardware issue. Might have to ask for a replacement.
I don't really know how the usb aux box works, what components are inside or what the output is.
All I know is, the Hi Res DAC provides better output quality than the provided 3.5mm cable.
You are starting with better sound quality, so you get better quality into the HU in the end.
It sounds better to me. Do some tests.
I have bought USB-AUX box from the third party and connected to PC. PC recognized the device as "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver". I have also connected the device to USB port in a console box of my W205 and fed music by my phone to a mini jack of the device. The sound quality was worse than Bluetooth. There could be two causes of the low quality of the audio, D/A of the phone and A/D of the device. As I wrote before, even if the quality of the analog audio fed to the device was good, the quality of the digital audio coming out from the device depended on A/D conversion of the USB-AUX box.

I want to install the AMG Ice 1920x720 boot animations but the folder doesn't have the splash.img file.
I see that more folders doesn't have this file?
So how do i install without the splash.img file.
