A delay in your audio compared to what's being displayed on the screen is most likely caused by an adapter in the audio stream. In this case, it is most likely caused by connecting the Android units' AUDIO OUT cable to the factory headunit using a USB adapter/USB Media Interface.
If you have an Audio20 unit, I'm not sure how to resolve that without spending some money on a DSP or similar unit (this I know nothing about BTW, someone else would need to chime in about this).
If you're not sure what type of factory headunit you have, running an online VIN lookup will list all your specific equipment and options. One of the easier ways to determine this is; if your screen is 7.0" it should be Audio20, if it is 8.4" it should be COMAND/NTG 5.x/COMAND Online.
If you have a COMAND 5.x unit, the most direct way to resolve this is by connecting the Android AUDIO OUT cable to the AUX IN/AUDIO IN on the COMAND unit.
I understand many of these aftermarket Andriod units have slight differences. I bought mine from DMP Car Design. The harness coming off the Android unit has an AUDIO OUT cable with a 90 degree 3.5mm male audio jack. This is what "most" instructions/methods for connecting audio state to plug this AUDIO OUT into the small converter box that gives you a male USB cable to plug into your #1 or #2 USB ports in the center console. Then from within the NTG interface, you choose Media Interface USB 1 or 2 depending on which port you plugged into. I'm fairly certain piping the audio signal through this USB interface is the issue.
The Android AUDIO OUT cable and jack looks like this on mine:
To eliminate the audio delay (and have the cleanest base signal), the Android AUDIO OUT should be connected directly to the COMAND unit through AUX IN.
My kit from DMP has a short 3.5mm female AUX IN/AUDIO IN pigtail coming out of the main wiring harness near the large terminal block that plugs into the COMAND head unit that looks like this:
Connect the Andriod AUDIO OUT cable directly to the COMAND AUX IN/AUDIO IN. You will then need to active AUX IN in your NTG 5.x (COMAND) unit in order to use AUX as a selectable Media Interface. Once this is complete, choose "AUX" as your Media Interface input in the factory screen settings (NTG).
I used an OBDII flash programmer to activate my AUX IN, like this:
My unit is connected directly through AUX and 3.5mm audio cables and I have no issues. Good luck!

I have an older version then you. When I did this I had to put them on the USB separately and load into system one at a time. USB once for splash.img and then a second time with bootanimation.zip.

Has anyone installed one of these in a 2019 GLC 300? I'm curious to know if you need to connect the GPS, mic or the small speaker if we're just using the unit for Carplay? They have wireless Carplay built in?

Is the n600 plus still the best model in 2022, For a 2016 C class?
Which model is easiest to install?
Just want bigger screen, wireless carplay, and easy install. Don't need video. Thank you.

BTW, found a solution to the Tidal issue on these screens. When you can't access the menus.
You go into developer options (click the build number 7 times), then set minimum dp width to 600. Now Tidal works fine.
It reduces your font size a bit and the down side is my screen resets on every reboot.
Nothing a script can't fix.

...Or you simply connect and use Wifi from your phone, if you have a good data plan.

The screen has a sim slot. You can get a 4g sim card (with data plan) from a phone provider and insert it into the screen for internet access. It needs an antenna, just like your phone.

I'd like to expand on this a bit for anyone that may be undecided about which way to go, and add a few pros and cons of each:
Data Plan/Sim Card/4G Antenna
Pros
- Unit is not dependent upon connecting to a smartphone
- Unit will work if someone else is using your car, or if you drop your phone in a river :p
- You can use your phone for whatever and is has no bearing on your car
- You can use your car as a WiFi hotspot
- Always "charged", cause there's no battery to worry about
- Unit is isolated for cyber security
Cons
- Cost of an additional data plan
Smartphone Connection
Pros
- Less expensive, as you can use your existing cell plan for data
- Direct access to all your phone things, contacts, etc.
Cons
- If you drop your phone in a river, the stuff in your car doesn't work :p
- Potential pairing and connection issues
- If someone else uses your car, the stuff won't work unless you get them setup
- If your phone battery is dead when you get to your car, you'll need to wait
- The potential for cyber security exposure of your personal phone data, unless you trust whoever no-name people make these units
I'm sure there's more, but this was what I went through in my mind when making the decision on mine.

I'm pretty sure you will still need to connect the GPS antenna (not absolutely certain). I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to... it just plugs in, pretty simple.

It's more about having to mount the GPS antenna on the windshield that bothers me.

I don't use the 4G (yet), but i still connected both antennas. Because if you change your mind later, you will have to remove the entire center console and screen (again) just to plug in those antennas.
