How to connect to positive lead of reversing lamp
Hi,

I just purchased a dash cam. I only plan to mount the rear camera inside and use it only for recording. But it needs to be connect to the "positive lead of reversing lamp".

I have never worked on a car. Does anyone have some instruction / photo / video how to do that on C300?

Just open the trunk and look to the wiring in the inner body of the car. It's easy to get to the lights and the wiring.

Hi,

I'd want it to be able to record when the car turns on, not just in reverse gear. What should I look for to connect the wire too? I don't really know cars so any visual information would be appreciated

I wouldn't leave a camera on to record all the time when the car is off without an actual car recording system.

The dash cam has a recording system and has both front and rear camera. It's recording whenever power is turned on. The front one is easy to install. The rear one requires this wire to be connected which I just don't know how to do.

If you want it on any time the car is on, that is easier than only while in reverse. You will want to tap in to a fuse in the trunk:

You'll need a test light and a fuse tap kit, then just run the wire through the corner of the back seat to get to the rear deck. I would test this setup before mounting everything, not familiar with your kit but having a "constant-on" reverse signal may cause input confusion.

Reason for the hardship is you bought dashcam w/backup camera.

Buy a simple single dashcam and hook it up to your cig port or don't install the rear cam for now.
