I was in for service today, and I asked about a map update. They said I had the latest - version 11. This is from three years ago, can this be true? I can't find the information online. If so, my NAVI is useless after only three years of updates (ver. 11 came out in 2018).

I believe the maps in your car are no longer supported. There have been threads about this. Mercedes has a new vendor for maps.

Can’t find it. It was about people with 2017 and 2018 . Their 3 free years were up and wanting to pay for updates. They were being told they can’t. The vendor has changed.
Go DIY, Mercedes Download manager, put your SD card in and see what you get. I had my 2014 get updated to 2020 last year gratis.
Thanks, but none of that makes sense to me. I have a 2015 W205. The map is updated with a DVD. What SD card are you talking about? I believe 2014 had a completely different system.

Yes I do, but the map has to be updated with a DVD that only the dealer can do. They need a special code. I don't have the Garmin, I have Comand Navigation.
You're welcome! This thread reminded me I need to update my nav also, so I did my own search and the thread above was one of the results I came across.
I did Advanced search in the W205 forum only. Search terms were "update comand navigation".
No nothing wrong with my stuff. I can load the site fine, but clicking buttons on the page does nothing. If you say you have no trouble, then why don't you give me the information from the site about my 2015 C300.

Seems to work fine. Latest for 2015 is V14, available for download or USB stick. I think your dealership said you had the latest, because V11 is the last free one your car is eligible for under the 3 year free map updates, and I guess they didn't want your money for a more recent one.

1-Are you sure this is for Comand Navigation. It doesn't say on the site.
2-Have you done this.
3-In the FAQ they say you need to give them your VIN# to get the unlock code, but they never ask for it during the check-out.

1. Yes, it says it right there. NTG is the internal name for the COMAND system.
2. No, I haven't. Just trying to help out. My car is a 2019 which gets map updates over the air and via download from the Mercedes Me website and the subscription can be extended once the first 3 years are over.
3. Not sure how they handle it, but yes, the maps have to be unlocked for your VIN#. I'm guessing they will contact you to provide the VIN, so they can send you the code.
I completed the update today for V15 North America. Everything went well. I downloaded the update - about 28GB when extracted. I was impressed with the company - they had great tech support to answer questions. You have to connect the USB to see if Comand recognizes the update, then cancel and message them with your VIN# to get the code. I guess they want to make sure it will work before they give you the code. I can't wait to tell my Service Rep he is full of s**t when he told me there are no updates past V11 for my car. I paid $130 - well worth it.

I would not suggest telling your SA that he is full of it. That doesn’t make for a good relationship.
