C Class S205 Electronic Clicking Sound - Driving me mad
I have searched the forums, but couldn't find a thread that matches my problem exactly.
I have a 2017 C Class S205 AMG Line with 40k on the clock. I've only had the car for around 6 weeks, and it is making the most annoying sound when driving at low speeds.
See https://youtu.be/9r7TUuGc3Xw for a short and terrible video that doesn't exactly capture the annoyance of the sound, but was the best I could get my wife to do a few evenings ago. It seems to come from the passenger side behind the dash near the windscreen.
The sound I am getting is so fast and so electronic it is hard to describe. Basically an incredibly fast clicking cricket stuck in my dash. It is not excessively loud, but very noticeable regardless - again hard to describe. I have to put music on straight away. as it is so annoying. It is worse when travelling up to around 40mph. I think past that the road noise hides the sound. It is definitely worse when the engine is cold, and the pitch of the noise increases with acceleration. There is no noise at idle, or when stopped. It only engages when the car accelerator is pressed, and does change slightly as it shifts through the gears (auto).
The car is going in for a NOX sensor replacement next week, so I thought I would try and mop this issue up at the same time. The dealer has already plugged the car in and it only flagged a NOX sensor issue, so I am hoping it is nothing serious. I have told them about this, but they didn't seem too interested in looking into it, and said they heard something and are changing an engine clamp - but I am pretty sure it is not that.

Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks

if you put music can you still hear it?
Is there any mulfunction in the car?
Sorry about the questions but its a rare case. I hear about heard rest making noises including mine. My dealer wants me to buy a new headrest. When he told me the price I became in love with the sound of head rest 😂
I don't know, but may be worth looking into.
