To Have Service or To Service Myself

To Have Service or To Service Myself
Except where I don't have specialized equipment, space, or personal skill I've generally done my own maintenance. This being my first M-B I've been a bit stymied finding the ACTUAL manufacturer items to check. Usually owners manuals have a service schedule with specific items to replace, check, et. I have found a few glimpses of A & B service details ith a dealer here and there. But I haven't found definitive statements from an M-B source including the other things like spark plug replacement, transmission service interval, etc. Anybody find an definitive M-B source on actual maintenance...or maybe those are also covered by the onboard system?

C class is a very common car and often discussed. I'd suggest doing a search in the search bar and read through the many threads on the topic of service. Since you did mention not knowing anything about MB's it might be better to have a pro help you.
There are comprehensive maintenance schedules that come with the car, or might be digital now in the command, but since this car is used you may have not gotten the run down from the dealer/salesman you purchased the car from.
I'm sure other members will chime in and try and help you, but with the attitude you have displayed already in your short time here you may find it difficult to get help, of any at all. GL to you.

And I'm hoping you can help some more on one of your statements. Can you be more specific about searching? I've searched on terms like "service schedule" and found some threads, but none have actual service schedules for a w205.
Also, do you know where an actual service schedule for a W205 is? You don't seem to have this actual model in your profile and seemingly a decade old CLS63. You say a schedule comes with the car. Where? What does it look like? Is it in a specific factory manual, paper, or menu system? What's the title on it? And I did ask my dealer via salesperson and service department, but neither were inclined to share.
Like you mention, I hope other members chime in and try and help. Notwithstanding the attitude you're displaying being hostile to a person who is genuinely interested in the car they bought a, eager to help those also taking a genuine interest in the product as well--you're just coming off as attaching a newbie. Please attack the question on not me personally.
Thanks in advance.

I was fairly certain your reply would emit this sort of tone and temperament. Predictable.
Thank you for shooting your little 'your car is a decade old' quip, that was very awesome...and sort of expected from a defensive human on the slab for being called out in a prior thread for being nothing short of a rude tool to another new member looking for advice/input
I don't feel I have been hostile, as a matter a fact, quite the opposite: calm and trying to help you see what a ****** you have been
I'll end my replies now.
One last thing: it's a shame the dealer/sales department were not inclined to share with you on how to navigate the workings of your car lol.

Not really sure how I have been on a high tone. Your comment seems to be equally as helpful huh?
Not sure why you're inserting yourself into the fray, but okay, I'll go see if I can find some dirty dishes.

Dirty dishes are easy to find. Helpful responses, not so much. Wish I could be more helpful!!!

Looks like you've been on board(mb world)a couple of years so there's no doubt you have some insight to owning/driving Mercedes Benz cars, especially
on your platform.
As it was kindly pointed out, my car is, over 10 years old, but I feel I still have insight (and manners as well as gumption to call someone out for being less than hospitable) into owning and driving these cars. I have owned 3 other MB's, Porsche's as well as other brands.

Please remember that many questions are asked many times over and we recommend a quick search first (using the advanced search function to filter by model, etc). Pointing that out isn't a bad thing...
Happy that Chassis had the proper link.

I'm curious if you have these commonly linked, pinned, or an FAQ somewhere? Again, I did do a little search and found none at least on "FAQ" (other than the terms of use), scanning the top of the W205 area, or the forum home.
You call some of the comments as just "pointing that out" and not harassment? I guess looking through the lens of a large forum I've owned that seems like enabling for a few of your long-time brow-beaters and harsh on new blood. But, whatever. I'll adjust my sights and D up. Thanks!
