HELP?! back up camera malfunction, expired warranty

HELP?! back up camera malfunction. camera stuck open, wont close and no camera feed. Warranty expired last week, just my luck. ANY HELP?!
already replaced fuse
already disconnected battery
Took to dealership and was told $400 just for the diagnosis, looking for any remedy before taking back to dealership.

Have you tried posting on the E forum? Obviously this isn’t a C. They may have more experience.

Hello, see if your car is under this recall.
Mercedes-Benz Recalls More Than 375,000 Cars, SUVs, and Vans for Backup Camera Problem
Since your car is out of warranty you should purchase a MBII so that you can look and fix most things on your own, if you want to do that.

Sounds like your dealer is a real dick. Should be a good will repair if only a week out of warranty. They should be contacting MBUSA or wherever you are. Plus that recall. Good catch.
