New steering wheel buttons won't work

Hey guys, so my OEM C W05 steering wheel got stolen yesterday i bought a new wheel from a guy that told me it wil work on the W205 but after finding out it was a A/CLA wheel i was very pissed.
the steering wheel buttons do not work.
Is there a way to make it work or do I need to buy a new steering wheel ?
I found the button module separate for €130.
The horn also does not work and activates voice assist.

you need a control module from your model car. the buttons work but the data is wrong.

Yup, went through it when I changed the wheel in my car to the AMG CLS one, just had to swap the contact module that's in by where the airbag is to the one that was originally in my car. If you go to a dealership and ask them for a part number they should be able to provide you with one.

LOL, right?!

Mine was a pain in the a** to remove, I highly doubt I could get it done before getting caught.

What kind of people steal steering wheels? Didn't know this was a hot market, lol.

It's not as prevalent in Mercs but I've seen loads of BMWs with a smashed window and steering wheel, radio unit and the screen for it ripped out. Considering how much they cost to replace I'd say it's a pretty lucrative "business".

price of airbags is up there. w205 not so much but it will fetch $250-400
now w205 facelift those bags go for around 700, and the wheel 900

it makes sense and its really easy on the benz to remove the airbag and then the wheel

did you get this fixed? I'm having similar issue with a replacement wheel that was supposed to work with my car.
also curious if any of the other buttons randomly worked but as they should.

Unfortunately my originally wheel has issues, main reason for replacing it. A few buttons stopped working which I replaced but no improvement, seems like control module is done.
local dealership won't sell me the module but is quite happy to sell me a new wheel as along as they install it lol

any idea where I could source a module?

Phone a different MB dealership's parts department with your VIN, they should have no problem selling you the control module and if they do then they're just being awkward about it.
