Hi all, I have 2015 yr C220 with om651 and 6speed manual box.
When bought a car noticed that it's very difficult to select a reverse gear no matter Engine running or NOT. It is requires a good pressure by hand to be put on gearstick to the left (in direction of the gear from N to R) please see picture below it is a Blue arrow mark. After that it's past the 1 and 2nd gear line go further to the left with a metal knock sound from underneath of the car. Then is go smoothly into the Reverse gear by pushing the gearknob a bit forward. Changed Clutch kit, and didn't help. Help guys? Blue arrow is where it's difficult to pass
i'ts been ages since i drove a manual merc but aren't you supposed to push down the gear selector before pushing left to reverse?
see it like 2 height levels, level 2 (default) is for gear 1 & 2, level 1 below is for reverse so you need to first push down to go to level one before you move left
