Hi all new to this but I figured I give it a try and see different ways to save money. I don't want to be cheap but I want to see if there is a better way to maintain my W205 C Class without breaking my pockets. I need new front brakes and I was quoted by the Mercedes Benz dealership 1137 USD for the job. Is that reasonable? should I try somewhere to get a cheaper quote? or this job is too delicate to let anyone do? Let me know, want honest opinions.
Thanks for the reply, I would say my brakes are squeaky and it is quite embarrassing. This would be my first change as an owner. Was looking to purchase this and have a mechanic i know put them on. thoughts?

Make sure you are not using any Chinese made rotors as they are known to fail prematurely.
PS.. there are many videos on Youtube that show this proof.
Also stay near to bigger brand brake pads since not all brake pads are made the same. OEM is dusty because it's a mix of ceramic and iron but many use other brands that also known to make big for car enthusiast.

Anything you recommend? I do a lot of city driving and the OEM rotors and sport pads just squeal all day. I had the rotors and pads replaced but the noise persists. Love this car but I hate how coming to a red light or stop sign lets out a shrill squeal like as if I’m a garbage truck. I assume it’s the OEM semi-metallic brake pads getting hot and/or brake dust. I want to try ceramic pads to see if that does something to reduce the brake noise.
The dealer is attempting a fleece job, as usual. Don't use a dealer for this.
Buy parts and have them delivered to an independent shop. Brakes are an easy bread and butter job for them.
btw only 1 wear sensor is needed for the front axle. Axle = 2 wheels. 1 sensor per 2 wheels. Don't buy 2 sensors if you are replacing only the front brakes.
Compare prices at FCP Euro, AutohausAZ and several online MB OEM dealers.
Dealers who sell online can be surprisingly competitive on some parts. If you walk in to a dealer parts department and buy over the counter expected to be fleeced. Seems the online shopping world is more competitive.

I've had Brembo/Akebono ceramics that were perfect. The only time they squealed were on days of below 0C. Once they warmed up a bit, it's gone.

Swapped the OEM pads for some ceramic Akebono pads. It’s like night and day. As much as I am going to miss the immediate “punch you in the face” stopping power of the semi-metallic OEM pads, these akebono pads are a much more enjoyable braking for everyday driving. Not to mention my rims aren’t covered in brake dust.
Mercedes should include in their promotional pricing the cost of you replacing run-flat tires and semi-metallic brake pads.
