Is it possible to get a spare original motherboard for this project so that the original cluster could just be stored intact for quick reversal if ever needed?

Anyone know the price and/or the part # for the 2015 W205?

When you set the cluster on the navigation menu option it displays video from the HDMI in port if anything is connected. Turns out you don't need a new Android screen from the seller to do this.

I found two USB to HDMI adapters on Amazon, One uses a MS9120 chip and the other uses a SM768 chip. Both worked with my existing 12.5 inch aftermarket Android screen. They both come with Android drivers.

The Wavlink uses a SM768 chip and is around $45.

Amazon Amazon

The Android software is called SMI InstantView in the Play store or on the Wavlink website. Current version is v2.21.2.0

The generic KLOMIER adapter uses a MS9120 chip and is only $14. The image quality is the same as the Wavlink.
T
his adapter has two selectable resolutions in the settings,1920 x 1080p or 1280 x 720p. (I toggled this option while connected to my cluster and nothing changed)

It also has two Output Quality options, low and high. (I toggled this option while connected to my cluster and nothing changed)

Amazon Amazon

The Android software is called MSDisplay_Android and it comes loaded inside the adapter or can be found in Github online under MindShow/USBDisplay project. It's not in the Play store. Current version is V2.0.1.3.

The digital cluster has a setting that allows you to adjust the position, width and height of the center screen. (While on Navigation. Push and hold the OK button.)

There are individual settings for each cluster design. Here I am adjusting the settings for the Classic cluster design.

Pushing the Ok button on the steering wheel once (while on navigation) will make the two gauges smaller and spread apart, letting you see more of the center image.(in widescreen)

Could you tell me if with this screen model could the digital cluster work? with that HDMI adapter?

Sorry, I cannot answer that question by just looking at your screen. The USB to HDMI adapters require Android to work and the APK installed. If you have a compatible Android version it should work. Mine is Android 10 and it worked. You also need at least one open USB A output from your screen to plug it in. Make sure the adapter is using the MS9120 chip.

My car has does not have Parktronic / Self Parking. I cannot test.

Tire pressure values are correct, but are in KPA not PSI.

Multimedia (Bluetooth, Radio) display correct songs, information, device and stations.

The "Navigation" option in the Digital Cluster is for displaying HDMI video input from any HDMI source. (Not sure why it is labeled "Navigation")

You can display any application from any aftermarket Android screen or Google Maps for navigation. I was even able to connect my Android phone using a different USB C to HDMI adapter.

The Phone option in the Digital Screen is for Bluetooth Phone.

The honest truth is it's still a work in progress. About 65% complete IMHO. Mine needs more updates to be complete for my 2015 w205 and all its features.

Also, I am not sure if each seller is doing their own updates or using the same developer and getting updates directly from the manufacturer. They will need to collect canbus data for your car if features and icons are missing.

The speedometer needs to be updated for my car to show 160 miles max not 260. The great news is this one works with my HUD, shows the media information (like song info) in the center, shows Distronic info and active lane keeping warning.

It's a great start but more work is still needed.

This "Sports" cluster design is missing from my software version. Sadly, its the best looking cluster design IMHO. Not sure why they removed it.

Thank you very much for your answers and great help.
I'm a little disoriented and without much idea and before doing or buying anything I have to have things very clear to install this, you have to invest time and some money so that it doesn't work later.

What characteristics would you need from my screen to know if it is compatible with the cluster?
I know it's Android 8.

What do you mean when you say it must have at least one USB A output OPEN on the screen?
It has two cables with USB, which is where I connect any pendrive with music, videos, updates, etc... that came with the screen cables. Are you referring to that type of USB? or is it a USB with some special feature?

When you have done the test of running the digital group next to the OEM while doing tests, how have you connected the digital group without disassembling the OEM group? Is it possible to do it without disassembling the original group? I see that in the videos for it to work you have to assemble the digital with the original.
Have you also connected your Android screen with the HDMI adapter to do the tests?
It would be a good option to order it to test it and if it works for me in the tests, I will agree with the Chinese and return it.

As I mentioned there is nothing about your screen (hardware) which would tell me if the adapter would work for you. All I know is It works with Android 10, which I have confirmed by testing it with my screen. You will need to test it with your Android 8 screen.

If your screen has It has two USB cables, then you are good. I just meant you will need one free to connect that HDMI adapter.

The screen comes with a Y cable and connects to both OEM and Digital Clusters. When the Digital Cluster is connected to that cable the OEM Cluster does not respond to steering wheel commands. You don't need to dissemble your OEM cluster to run them side by side for testing. Only for final installation.

Yes, See Post #35. My Android screen is connected to the Digital Cluster with the HDMI adapter.

Yes, See Post #35. My Android screen is connected to the Digital Cluster with the HDMI adapter.

Thank you very much for your clarifications.
The Y cable you are referring to? what cable is it? Is it the cable that powers the Android screen that is connected with a clip to the head unit located under the center console?

or do you mean

Is this another cable that powers the digital group and that is supplied with the digital group?

Would you mind making a connection diagram between the screen, digital group and HDMI adapter?
I would appreciate it and sorry for so many ignorant questions, thank you.

By the way, the Klomier USB-HDMI adapter is no longer sold in the link you attached. Could you recommend a different one with the same characteristics?

Those cables are for an android screen and have nothing to do with the digital cluster.

I still see it as available on Amazon.com (USA).

These are all the same generic MS9120 adapter:

Just look for the Android drivers in images.
