Engine Control Module Software Update
Hello everyone, I have a 2020 C-300. I have been getting regular maintenance, and had no major issues. Today my check engine light came on and I brought it to the dealership. I was told that the ECM software needs an update. Unfortunately, I am past the warranty and am being told that it will cost me $700 for a software update. I would understand if they had to replace the module, but this seems pricey for a software update. I am going to try to call around for pricing tomorrow, but after scouring the internet, I am just more lost, lol. Any advice, opinions? TY!

Usually software update will not solve fault codes,
Anyhow 700 for a software update could be a misunderstanding
Ask the dealer to give you the Diagnosis Report and post it here.
