2023 C300 - Ordering Questions

Test drove a 2022 C300 a couple weeks ago and really liked it. I've been working with the salesperson to order a 2023, which apparently will begin arriving in the fall. I emailed the salesperson all of the options I wanted on the car. Yesterday, the salesperson emailed me a copy of the order screen (Netstar) for my car which is scheduled for production sometime in September 2022. Both the Sound Package / Burmester package (DA6) and the Wireless Charging option (897) weren't available. This wasn't a complete surprise from what I've been reading on the forums, but I'm now curious if I were to proceed with the order if there is still a reasonable possibility these options might still be included on the car when it's built. Or since Netstar shows they're not available now, is that a good indication they won't be available when it's actually built? Just trying to decide if I should go forward with the order or just wait. Sound package is a must have for me and I'm not in a huge rush to get the car.

The car will likely not have those options.

They might become available at some point but if you don’t add them to the build when/if that happens, they wont get put on.

I think your best choice is to either not order yet and wait for the dealership to contact you when they become available. Or you can buy another incoming car that's already made (most likely a dropped order) which does have the burmester package. I personally would just find any dropped orders asap since the parts shortage isn't really getting much better. I would also suggest you to act fast if you want one with an AMG package since those are also in shortage.

Thanks for the feedback! This is the first time I’ve attempted to order an MB instead of of purchasing one from existing inventory so, I’m not familiar with the process. I’m sure the supply chain issue has probably changed things a bit too. The salesperson I’m dealing with was helpful in person but not so much by email or telephone. I’ll call him and figure out what my options are. I’ll ask about inventory or built 2022s. I’m pretty specific on color and options I want which might make that a bit of a challenge. By the way, if anyone knows of a helpful salesperson in the Sacramento area, please let me know! Thanks again.

I Would say it's a good idea to see him in person more. I feel like this increases the chance of getting what you want since you're literally there.

I was in a similar situation. I placed an order for a 2023 in mid April. At the time the salesperson couldn't add the sound package. He said he would try to add it later. He contacted me in mid May to let me know it was added. Not sure how the process works but I was kind of surprised it got added a few weeks later. My projected build date is the end of July.

Similar thing happened to me except I went there a month later after they said they didn't have it and was able to get it added to my car. Ordered in February and if lucky I should get it in mid to late July.

You can always come down to LA to get it. My dealer has cars and I was able to get the options I wanted, AMG package, exclusive trim, panorama sunroof, bumester, parking assist, got it with red/black leather etc. Sticker price was $53,820 so it’s pretty loaded. I can put you in contact with my salesgirl to see if they have what you want. The only thing I didn’t get because I honestly didn’t realize it was a separate package was the upgraded lights. Would have liked those but they seem to come when navigation is added to the car and I don’t need that.

let me know and I can provide contact info.

Burmester 3D Surround Sound System (810) and Sound Package (DA6) are subject to limited availability. That means it's not impossible to add and it may add successfully one day if your salesperson tries again.
It looks like the wireless charging is available on the Premium and Exclusive trims as a standard feature. Unclear if it can be added to the Premium trim as an extra.

@Eaton can't be added to the premium trim as a standalone option. Only available with the exclusive and pinnacle trims. And since like April it's been subjected to limited/no availability on those trims.

Thanks again for the feedback. Appears there could still be some hope of getting Burmester/ Sound package included in my build. (Looking for a Pinnacle trim with some additional options, but if for some reason it's easier to get Burmester on Exclusive trim, that would be fine too I reached out to the salesperson I've been working with. Might stop by the dealership on Saturday.

Not sure if Exclusive vs. Pinnacle helps with adding the Burmester but for reference I ordered with the Exclusive trim. And as said earlier, it eventually was added by the salesperson.

My salesperson told me that my build has the DX2 Pinnacle code on it and it is a stronger indicator that the car will have burmester than having the DA6 Sound Package code. Do you agree?

Until Mercedes figures out why they are delivering cars that are brand new yet the rotors and the pads on these cars are no good and have to be replaced I would not even order this car personally. I regret getting this car at this point as I am going on day 11 of my car being in the shop waiting for MercedesBenz engineering in Germany to tell them what they need to do to fix the darn thing.

I love the C 300, this is my third one but I don’t know that I will get another Mercedes after this disaster because it’s absolutely ridiculous that my car has been in the shop for 11 days now with no ETA on when I will get it back fixed because the dealer has to communicate with MercedesBenz in Germany.

Sorry for the ranting I do apologize I just would be extremely cautious in ordering this car at this point until they figure out what the brake problem is with the cars they are delivering. My service advisor at Keyes Mercedes in Sherman Oaks,CA has been absolutely useless as he doesn’t even bother to update me on the status of the repair.

another forum member in WA had the same issue with the clunk/thump noise when braking as I do and it took 18 days for his dealer to fix this car. He was kind enough to provide me a copy of the step by step narrative the dealer prepared to document how they fixed his car so I can give it to my dealer today.

just be aware when ordering that there is a known issue with the brakes on these cars.

This was fixed now right? Hopefully? As brake issues are serious safety concerns.

surprised it took that long. I had the thumping brake issue the second day I drove it and the dealership fixed the issue in like 3 days.

The brakes in my 2023 work fine. 2,200 miles and going strong.

I ordered mine with pinnacle. My build sheet did not show DA6. But when it went to production my sales person sent me picture of the VIN and it showed DA6 was included in the production.

I’m showing it just arrived to the states so I hope to know for sure in a few weeks.

Glad they addressed it for MY23 looks like it is only affecting some early batches of 2022.

yes. It’s been fixed for almost a year now. No issues. I just think it was because the cars were at the port for so long until they were released. Car is fine!! Can’t wait for my 2025 model. Lol. Cause when this lease is up I will get that year or 2025.

Glad to hear it is fixed, are we expecting 2025 to be the facelift? or will it be 2026?
