Is there any way to conveniently use remote start?

I can't find if there is any secret feature to use the remote start from the key fob?! I can start my F150 and it is already warmed up by the time I unlock my phone, load the app, hit the engine icon, hit the start button then type the pass code, wait for it to be communicated to the car! Is there something I missed? I’ve never used it because it is sooooo cumbersome but getting into a warm car or cooled car would definitely be nice without a 10+ step process.

Seems that remote start from the key is not the thing for MB. And it's mind boggling.

Wow, they implement a convenience feature but make it terribly inconvenient to use! Sort of like the close all windows or open all windows. You have to stand and hold the button waiting for them to all close rather than just initiating the function. Or the open everything requires you to be so close to the car it is more convenient to just open the door and brave the heat and open them all from the inside!

Safety prevails on this one. No one wants to be liable.

Only via the app. Didn't renew it, though. It's $50/year to remote start the car. I used it like twice in 3 years while it was free. If I had paid for it it would have been $75 per engine start, haha! Don't know what phone you have, but on the iPhone holding the app icon on the home screen brings up shortcuts to jump directly into a specific area in the app. Don't remember if the Engine status was on there. There's no code, either. It's all via Face ID. I occasionally use the app to lock or unlock the car, and it's very quick to jump straight to the lock status screen via the home screen shortcut. Maybe the problem is your choice of phone.

I think they are too cautious. Could you imagine what life would be like if elevators operated this way?

I use my Apple Watch and just say, "Hey Siri, start my car," and it fires right up. Just install the MercedesMe app onto your Apple Watch and configure it. If you don't have a watch you can also configure, "Hey Siri, start my car," into an iPhone.

I got the latest app, iPhone 14 pro max and an Uktra and I can’t get Siri to start it. I see two apps on the store the other one the dealer told me not to download. Which app are you using?

Since I have a 2018 E400, the app for my car is MercedesMe. I also have MercedesMe installed on my Apple Watch. Within the app settings on the iPhone is a button to create a Siri shortcut which will allow you to start, lock, unlock, etc. via Siri.

I believe there is a different app for Mercedes models that are newer than 2018.

I don’t think it is a safety issue. It is a what they can charge for app use and make more money. It is a money grab.

It's actually just EU regulation - and they don't implement specific changes to the market here in the US.
