Anyone aware of possibility of after manufacturer oem distronic pro upgrade/instals

Does this void manufacturers warranty ?

Wouldn't necessarily void the warranty. Unless the installer screws something up. i think you will find the cost or difficulty of retrofitting the factory system to be the issue. For the record I don't even know if it can be done. Would be hella expensive if it was.

Thanks. There's alot of mixed information regarding what voids or doesn't void warranty.
incidentallly came across some videos/chatted with some autoshops in malaysia /singapore who claimed it could be done at half the original factory cost . Apparently only involves button changes and remote coding . See link

Warranty aside, have you ever seen a distronic-like system of any type for any car ever be an after market accessory? These systems require precision alignment and programming. Beyond the parts, It’s usually a show stopper because the dealers won’t have the alignment and programming systems to get these systems to work in orchestration with the rest for the cars’ components. The parts rely on data from all the cameras around the car, the parking sensors, and the stereo cameras fitted behind the windshield - not just the sonar module at the grill. Then they all tap into the ecu, drive and braking and steering system to drive the car . Trust me it’ll be cheaper to buy a different car that has this system fitted.

I installed the distronic pro from rjautomotive in england, works really well. I'm in USA Arizona
You have to change the front radar sensor behind the front star
Do not have to change the camera
then change the two switch panels on the steering wheel.
run a wire cable from the new sensor in to the cabin and connect it to the controller under the right hand seat
then connect via the computer for them to recode the system.
they furnish every thing with the purchase of the distronic pro.
Even the coding module to connect to the computer, and the wiring cable.
Coding took about 30 minutes. there is a little work involved in the installation of the equipment by you.
The car will do the alignment during about the first 15 minutes driving if you follow the directions for alignment

Might just be a matter of time before this company releases something if it is possible.

curious was it for a w206 c class or 2nd gen mbux ?When I last enquired from RJ autos he mentioned wasn't able to do any w206 retrofits .

RJ automotive doesn’t code w206 at the moment. They don’t have the zenzefi certificates.

After reaching out to RJ, I got my w206 coded by @simon_benz_coding on instagram. He offered to retrofit distronic, but I decided not to purchase the left steering wheel touch pad from him (he’s in Italy and I can likely get it cheaper in the USA), but he will handle the coding and activate distronic if you install the hardware.

Hi,

1. He activated off-road, curve, and sport+ dynamic modes. Also activated AMG super sport cluster, increased top speed to 220, added AMG boot logo and cluster logos, temperatures menu, as well memory for last dynamic mode and auto on/off. He also activated lane keep assist which doesn’t require dashcam camera or driving assistance package. Distronic can be activated but you would need to swap the left side touch pad on the steering wheel. He also activated the factory alarm, but I didn’t know what it was until he told me.

2. I have nothing but good things to say about Simon. All I needed was an ENET cable and a windows laptop with teamviewer downloaded (free license is all you need). Plug the obd into the car and then into the laptop and send him teamviewer code on WhatsApp.
Took about an hour or two, all I had to do was check on the car and confirm the changes appeared when he messaged. He went through activating feature by feature and not all at once. Some dynamic modes broke MBUX like snow and wet, so I didn’t get those but he said a dealer FUP would allow him to activate them the future. He confirmed everything worked properly before disconnecting, and I have no doubt he would be willing to help if any problems occur. I have been using sport+ (sometimes even curve lol) and lane keep for 4 months now and haven’t had any issues.

3. I don't think I'll be getting distronic, mostly because it requires the hardware install. He had the OEM steering pad in stock and offered to ship the part to me, though I knew it would be expensive buying from Italy and I would have to find someone to install. If I was more handy, I would buy it in the states and have him code it after installing. I haven't been able to find the part number, but once you do so, it can be easy to order online. Most dealers sell parts online and will ship it anywhere in the US.

4. Zenzefi is a certificate MB uses to lock out customers and repair shops from accessing the car through the OBD port. Unless, of course, they pay MB an annual license for their Xentry software

Does the W206, by any chance, have the same switch pads as the W253?
I had the distronic done on my GLC300 and the switches were called
Schalterfeld
switch panel W. navi pad
A 099 905 31 04 9J32
Mercedes-Benz Original
Both came in one package.

Thats the AMG line wheel, you might have the base steering wheel which looks like this:


The part number mentioned before is the AMG steering wheel controllers for w205 2018-2021.

Been looking into getting a distonic retrofit from RJA.i wanted to know if the upgrade included active steering, and start and stop traffic when activated ?

My 2022 glc300 already had start and stop traffic and it still works after adding Distronic pro from rja
does not include activesteering on my glc300
If you are DIY biggest pain was removing the front star, changing the front sensor, running the wire thru
the fire wall ( on right side of the car ) Easy to unbolt right seat, and run wire under door step in trim and connect to controller.
Used plenty of wire ties, made it easier
RJA will answer any questions you have if you send them a message, very easy to work with. I'm happy with Distronic pro

Strange - I reached out to him, asking about my w206, and he said that the certificates were not released yet, so he couldn't do any coding on the w206/2023 model (my car is from 5. month of 2021).
