Window Tinting on 2023 W206
Has anyone successfully tinted 2023 cars that were recently built?
I heard newer builds have a solution to cover the SAM module to prevent issues. Is this true?
there were many problems with cars last year. Just wondering if anyone can attest to any issues as of recent. I just took delivery of my car and want to tint the windows.

The question is if it still has. If not then I think it's not an issue for your car.

My understanding is that the recall effects all W206s. Do not have your windows tinted before you have the recall repair done. You could get alot of expensive electrical damage to your car if the windows are tinted before the recall repair is done.

I confirmed my car (2023) had no recalls. I also had my tint guy take extra precautions. He covered all electronics in the rear just in case. He also changed his technique of applying the tint to steer any water away from
getting into the trunk area. This was his 3rd W206 and so far no problems with mine or the others he worked on. They all happened to be 2023s.

PFL205.064 with M276.823 (Oil pump solenoid defeated)
This problem was dated back to the current E-Class so I would still exercise caution when tinting MBs even if they claim they fixed it in the 2023 for the W206, MB was well aware of this issue for the E-Class and unless I am understanding it correctly, they didn't do anything about it or maybe they did but people are still having issues. They could void the warranty from the tint, so better be safe than sorry.

I picked My 2023 in dec, got it tinted 2 weeks later and now a month later i have no issues. Recieved quotes from couple different places but only the place i went with was transparent on the tinting situation but they had done a couple in the past and they don’t let the water drop down as much they use a special method. My only question was if it was something I’d find out right away or a week later? He said right away the lights and certain things would stop working so i said let’s do it. but in the end it turned out fine

I've done the ceramic window tinting couple of days ago and so far so good on my '23.
I told the installer to be extra careful on the back and he used towels on the back window.

The shop explained the fuse box in the trunk was moved from the left to right, so something else to watch out for!

I am wondering if you could kindly post a picture of the cover they installed? I have a 2023, and it's supposed to have the cover from the factory already, I looked in through the rear fuse box panel. And the so-called "cover" is literally a sheet of cotton, I am wondering if that's literally the cover MB called to install or they are cost-cutting on newly built cars.

My 2022 also has a thin felt cover over the trunk fuse box. The instructions for the SAM cover recall suggest it’s located at the top of the trunk behind the felt, since MB instructs us to peel back the trunk liner. Their instructions mention how the cover is a felt part, not a plastic shield like the description may have led us to believe.
After inspecting the trunk, and removing the felt liner around the fuse box, did you see anything shelled in like MB’s pics?
