Did you check the battery in the fob? I have found that unless you have a very, very good battery the fob stops working. A battery that test "good" often does not work and when I replaced the battery everything was fine.

Are you positive the tint they sold you isn't metallic? Just because you paid for ceramic doesn't mean they installed ceramic.

2019 E450
Having done some research I THINK I’ve figured out what’s up

I just got a 2019 E450 a few days ago and took it to a reputable tint person I’ve used for years. Apparently the K-go antenna are in the door and the control module is in the trunk (haven’t quite figured out where yet). I went on some tint forums and low and behold - lots of issues regarding this, some tint folks have refused to do MBs because of these issues. I got my tint done using top of the line ceramic tint and when I went to pick up the car it wouldn’t start, the door wouldn’t open, etc. etc. apparently when the use water to spray down the windows it leaks into the inside of the doors and cause the antennas to malfunction. But the real kicker is when they do the back window, it leaks down to where the K-Go control module is and causes that to short out and go on the fritz. From what I’ve read so far, MOST of the time, they dry out and start magically working again. I got mines done late in the afternoon so it hasn’t had time to bake out in the sun for a few hours, so I’m hoping that’s the case. I’m going to give it all day tomorrow and hopefully it does out and it works. I did read a few cases where it didn’t and the tint installers ended up having to pay for the repair replacement (I’m not going to make my guys do that). Apparently the control module part is the real kicker. Until I can figure out where it’s located in the trunk and confirm the part number, I’m SOL with all the features. I’d want to confirm the specific part numbers even though they’re inter changeable. Located genuine parts for about $220 on a site autohausaz.com and they seem legit. But until I figure out where and what panels need to be removed, I’ll just hope and wait it starts working again. Otherwise I’ll be trying not to break apart the trunk of my flawlessly acquire E450. And it costs just Uber $1K to have the dealership do it. I’ll keep you guys up to date as it progresses.

I have a 2020 E450 wagon and had 30% Ceramic tint installed back in Jan 2021. I've had zero issues. It seems odd to me the issue described above as here in Texas every one gets their cars windows tinted.

I think the location of the K-Go module would be different in the wagon, so spraying the glass during the installation process wouldn’t run down to where the module and other electronics would be. Appears to be a design flaw in the last few MB gens. But yeah, I get what you’re saying. Still haven’t gone and tried it yet today, letting it sit out in the Florida heat this fine summer day. Fingers crossed.

If you notice closely, there is a very faint ticking sound when you approach the vehicle with your key which activates detection, listen for this sound to avoid the module. I don't have a diagram of where everything is installed but I think (or at least hope) this might help avoid interfering with them.

UPDATE

I let it dry out in the hot Florida sun for a day or two and have it a try and it works. So definitely some patience is called for when getting the tint done and it’s something to be expected. Maybe preemptively put down some towels around the module channels so when they spray and it drips down it won’t be so bad. Glad it sorted itself out tho.

E200 2017 W213
Hello, whilst this thread is old I will contribute anyway as its is an interesting topic for me and I want to share my experience. I also had my windows (rear and side L R rear) tinted recently. Just normal tint. I had the exact same problem. Keyless go stopped working on my 2017 E200 W213. Its taken two weeks and it has only just started working again. Just after I picked up the car I did also see some water on a crate in the boot. Its really hard to work out where the Keyless go module is. So many variants. I believe that it may be LH side behind the rear left fender. I even had it booked in for a diagnosis next week. Will not cancel the booking unless it stays good for another 4 days.

UPDATE!

Yes, mines eventually started working again after a few days after getting the tint done. I followed the advice of some folks on here and left the car parked (in the hot Florida summer sun for about two days and then I checked and everything worked as expected. In my LHD version, the module is located in the left rear trunk well. And from how it was describer to me, when the rear window tint is done, the excess fluid leaks down into the well to make it's way out, but with the main module being there, it shorts and shuts itself down to prevent damage. Not sure where you're located (haven't seen an E200 in the US) but it's probably not as hot as it gets here. It will probably get itself sorted out in a few more days, but keep the service appointment just in case.

I have a 2017 and had ceramic tint done a couple years ago and never had any issues whatsoever. I was there when they completed it and drove away immediately after
