This place is a joke.
We all learned something I think. Apparently there are two different kinds of people in this world.

Engineers and Non-Engineers.

And to keep things on topic 🙄 I saw a new C43 today in charcoal gray. Not a particularly interesting looking car and really hard to tell it apart from the previous generation 205 C-class. The rocker moldings look like an aftermarket piece but I did like the wheels though, and the return of the quad round (sadly not oval) exhaust tips. The wheels had the new beadlock type ring around the outer diameter. Mercedes has really lost their way in the styling department on all their sedans, very bland.

I'm with you on that. Unless they have something more distinguishable in '24 or '25 my plan is to get the new VW (ev) bus coming to the states.

MB is dead to me until they have more reliability in their powertrains. MB styling and aesthetics are OK to good imo. W223 is not bad; not great but not bad. W206 and W213 facelift are also just OK. R232 looks good but it's a toy car and not looking for one of those. GLE/S look OK. AMG GT is interesting if I decide to move out of an SUV in the future.

But crap engines and transmissions are unacceptable.

The number of SUV's MB has cranked out is unbearable to me. I know I know.......give the people what they want. When I go pick up any of my kids....from anywhere I'm always the only one driving a 'sedan' and not a SUV. I've never been a wagon guy either.....call me old fashioned I guess. I agree on the GT cars, but that isn't practical for me right now, perhaps in the future. I also agree with your assessment of R232 but if I got a small 2 door like that it'd be another Pcar

W206 C300
My first thread here really got out of control quickly
Just to follow up on it, my C300 will be going in for service beginning of May, and the dealership will look at the melting cover issue then.

Until then, I will be driving the car without the cover mounted.

Thanks for your update, they confirmed that it is not a fire hazard right? Good.

Hope they bring it back for the CLE, whatever engines those are getting.

W206 C300
I promised to get back to this thread once Mercedes had had a chance to look into the issue.
My C300 was in the workshop yesterday to be serviced and they looked at the issue with the melting engine cover also.

The technician told me that the heat-shield between the exhaust components and the engine was incorrectly mounted from factory causing it to sit too high and thereby being in contact with the engine cover.
He was able to correct this and Mercedes will replace the engine cover.

Quoting my own post as I just noticed this post. So an update, nice that we are getting inline 6 in the CLE line up!
