I saw a Youtube shortclip where someone mentioned in the new C43 the cars can 'talk' to each other. So if someone's ABS goes off, wipers and etc are used further down the road, it will alert other W206 users?
Is this just a C43 feature and the rest of us don't get this?
I can see that my W206 has the Car-to-X Option enabled in the services in the Mercedes Me app. What this does, I don't know and would like to find out as well. I tried the manual but as there is no option to enable it in the menu of the entertainment system, there is no explanation in the manual.
I've had my 2022 C300 sedan for about year now. Several months ago I was driving on the freeway and received a warning on the MBUX system regarding the upcoming roadway. So happens it was warning me about a pothole on the freeway, that apparently another MB with Car-to-X Communication likely had hit. I found the following article online which I thought was interesting - https://www.automotiveworld.com/news...communication/
Hmm, I don't see Car-to-X service in Mercedes Me app for my car. I guees it's trim specific.
From mentioned below article a car must have "adaptive adjustable damping or AIRMATIC air suspension".
The pothole warning is the latest addition to Car-to-X and only newer cars with the latest adaptive suspension can communicate a pothole to other cars, but all other cars can receive the alert. The Car-to-X features depend on the country. In Europe for example you get an alert if an emergency vehicle approaches from any direction, because they communicate this to the common Car-to-X infrastructure and it's then relayed to all cars that support Car-to-X. Things are not as sophisticated in the USA yet. Car-to-X is a definition and a set of protocols to let cars communicate with other cars and the surrounding infrastructure, but what specifically gets communicated depends on the country and its infrastructure as well as whether car manufacturers have entered partnerships with other car manufacturers and entities to share such alerts.
