I personally have this, it is one of the more advanced ones than typical scanners that can scan MB related codes (well not all but most, some codes requires XENTRY), I am not sure the compatibility of the W206 but you can give it a shot: https://mbworld.org/forums/sl-class-...-versions.html
If you want XENTRY, you need to contact Peter.

If you need just to scan check engien light, any OBD scan tool will work, but it will not allow you to wipe some code or scan ABS/Traction(ESP)/SRS code together with some other advanced system. Only SMOG and CEL.
The reason being W206 uses DOIP and need a official License/Key that need to leak from a dealer of some sort to communicate with theses systems at all, and these system are wired to your EZS gateway with no direct connection to the OBD2 port.
So no, there is not a single do it all third-party scan tool right now. Nor is there any solution to permaneantly access a car(yet), you need to renew the license from whoever you got it from approx yearly.
Hardware wise you need a half decent not junk yard windows 8/10 laptop with a wired network port and a very cheap Enet Cable you can get from ebay/amazon($10 max), if it claims to work with bmw it will work with W206.
Software wise you need Xentry Passthrough, unless you want to drop big money($4k) on a Official MB C6.
But this set will get you all the access a dealer have to your car(minus programming new control unit, that requires Xentry Online). And will allow you to receive remote assist if you ever want to tune/program your car(some seller have license to program/flash as well).
I don't sell software/license but that's how I diag my own w206 and w223, it works flawlessly.
BE CAREFUL who you get your Xentry Passthru License from, newer cars can detect forged license being used to access it and might note it in the control unit, which CAN(not necessarily would) void your warranty.
