Here is a link to an interesting review of the LAUNCH Creader Elite reader. This is the previous version (vertical orientation) reader, but covers (I presume) all the same features of the newer, horizontal version reader...
The more I learn about the features of this product, I am both bewildered by the depth and wealth of the features, AND the more apprehensive I am to using this device to code changes, because there are so many ways to make mistakes. To minimize this, his advice to use a rubber-tipped stylus to navigate screens is a GOOD idea, IMO.
For example, there is a section where the reviewer mentions the (undocumented) need to turn the ignition OFF and back ON to process changes... This is not at all intuitive to the casual user, or the beginner, like myself.
On my wish list is coding to permit "Video in Motion", but I want to learn which module to look for, just to get me in the right neighborhood.

Generally, it is best to turn the car off for 10 seconds and then back on when clearing codes. Not all DTCs require this, but some do. My Creader (and other scanners) gives instructions to do so when needed.
The biggest difference between Elite and Elite 2.0 is that 2.0 has an internal battery that keeps it on when disconnected from the OBD port. I think Elite 2.0 uses a faster processor, as well. But both use the same software version. I did recently have to upgrade the OS on my Elite 2.0 whereas the original one did not have the upgrade. So, there's that too.
I will repeat that you should always make a backup before making any changes to the variant coding. On the module screen, you are given the choices of Write Coding, Backup, or Restore.

The Upgrade menu notifies you and allows you to upgrade the firmware and software applications. However, I found that the Android OS upgrade occurs elsewhere. The following shows how to update/upgrade the OS.
Start with the Settings menu.
Go to About.
Select Version and then select Detection system update.
On the System Update screen, select Check Version. You will be told if you have the latest version or that you need to update.
I have looked but has anyone used this tool to get the Euro ILS headlight function to work?
I thought I read it on here but then the thread I thought it was in the member deleted all his posts.
ANyone?
Mine should be here today as Amazon has coupon for $30 off price and for $170 Delivered with tax is a good price for this tool.
Seems like it a whole bunch more then the normal code reader.
Thanks to all who have posted their comments and experiences so far as I read a good hours worth before pulling the CC out of the wallet.

Are you sure your car is equipped with the proper hardware for the Euro ILS? I tried activating it on my car (2015 SL400) and it did not work. I do have option 615 -- BI-XENON HEADLICHT W.ACTVIE CURVELIGHT RIGHT-DRIVE, but I don't think that is the same.
This scanner does seem to actually do more than XENTRY with some functions, such as activating the blinking brake lights, or at least I can't find it in XENTRY.

I would be careful, though. I know I hosed up my front radar using iCarsoft to do a throttle position sensor (TPS) calibration, and had to use XENTRY to recalibrate and get Distronic Plus and PRE-SAFE brake to work again. You can probably mess things up even with this great little scanner if you don't know exactly what you are doing. If you really want to make some of these changes, go with @BenzNinja and ensure it's done right.
P.S. Why did resetting the TPS also reset my front radar? I have no idea and that's the scary part.
