It seems very difficult to up the volume by just a little bit. The touch slider is too sensitive. And hey Mercedes does the same. Volume always goes up too much or go down too much. The screen volume adjustment seems the easiest to fine tune the volume but it’s still a little bit clunky. I wish there a numerical number to the volume system so I can tell Mercedes exactly what volume to set it.

Have you tried to tell "Hey Mersedes" to set volume to a number or percent? Just a guess.

The touch controls just plain out suck. This is one example why. However, I've discovered that you can tap either end of the volume slider in the center console to go up or down in increments. Might work on the steering wheel volume slider as well, but I don't recall.

Yup, this is what I do too. But it only works on the console control, not the steering wheel. Tapping either end on the steering wheel control just mutes/pauses audio. Swipe controls have no business being on steering wheels.

yeah i tried that before too but it's still not precise enough, i still have to fine turn it on the screen plus it's a hard button press.

If Mercedes reads this, please put a volume knob control on future models. The slide is too imprecise.

I opened the dealer menu > comfort volume > and set entertainment to +5 dB. A louder maximum volume is unlocked and I feel I have better control over the volume since the range represented by the slider is expanded.

Dealer menu can be accessed by pressing the "Assistance" button in settings 8+ times.

Make sure to not accidentally press restore factory settings as that erases the car completely to barebone state, you lose backup camera and most things.

Yes, also do not press stop/delete map data! You'll lose the license to your maps even after a fresh install and will need to obtain a new navigation pin.

There's a reason some of the settings are locked behind a hidden menu, but the endless sound adjustments offered are always readjustable.

I heard there is also an engineering menu for MBUX not sure what it does or how to get to it.

The engineering menu was easily accessible on previous generations. However, in the latest generation models this has been locked down. MB has gotten stricter with altering features and coding, especially since the "digital extras" came out. Coding was already difficult since few vendors offered it. Currently even the best professionals have been locked out due to MB revoking the digital ZenZefi certificates necessary for OBD access.

You can actually see the activation status of the engineering mode/menu in the latest generation, but it will come up as "deactivated via diagnosis." You can check this by accessing the dealer menu via Settings > "Assistance" header (tap ten times) > SystemActivation > ENG_MODE.

Comfort volume might indeed be what you are looking for but I am not fully sure https://mbworld.org/forums/gls-class...-settings.html

I'm not familiar with the dealer menu, but KeywordActivationMinimumLevel from the name is not what you are looking for. That controls how loud you have to speak when saying "Hey Mercedes" before it reacts to the keyword. The music starts at the volume level you left it last time. Not sure if that can be changed and to always have it start at a specific level, but none of those options look like what you are looking for. Also if this is possible, it may have to be coded using Xentry and not via dealer menu.

KeywordActivationMinimumVolumeLevel controls how quietly you can say "Hey Mercedes" or "Mercedes" for the voice assistant to activate. The lower the dB, the more quietly you can say it to trigger.

I believe for your needs, I would adjust ComfortVolumeMax > Entertainment and raise it around 5dB. You can also adjust ComfortVolumeMin > Entertainment as well, however, raising the minimum level will narrow the spectrum of volume available making your volume slider less sensitive. You can lower the ComfortVolumeMin, however this will make the lowest volume setting even quieter.

The last selected volume always saves in both my 22 and 23 w206. Some mornings I am jolted since I set the volume so loud the night before. I suspect this issue is tired to your new amp.

Thanks, it's clear now. Happened to me as well.
Acting in ComfortVolumeMin help this issue, i can fade better on the first part of the volume slider.

Same issue! I have better luck with the control on the dash display. The steering wheel is only good for pissing me off. I’ve complained to the Dealer and they shared that there is no correction and everyone complains but Mercedes is ignoring the issue. We ALL need to complain as the engineers are all-in on these touch screen controls and think we all see it as a fresh cool feature…

Yes, I always hated the capacitive touch and touchscreens but sadly, it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Even the newer spied mb models still have it so mb clearly doesn't get the message, doesn't care or we are just the vocal minority.
