I have exactly the same whistle, but for me it's barely noticeable inside. I can hear it when i open my window or drive under the bridge above 120km/h (~75mph).
Haven't located it yet, as it's not that simple, but it doesn't seem to be coming from the windshield area in my case. Tried that "trick" with wipers, but for me sound didn't seem to stop when using them.
It is annoying and hope i will locate it one day.
I have had that twice on MB cars. In each instance it was at the bottom of the side trim where a small piece of rubber is out of the metal shield thing near the wiper blades. On one car I replaced it, the other I used some clear glue to hold down the "flappy" piece....I can get pictures in a few minutes.
Sorry for the delay in replying. Thanks for all the ideas.
After a bit of scratching my head and taping up certain areas one at a time.
I’ve finally managed to locate the whistle to the right hand side water deflector trim on the windscreen where it meets the A-Pillar.
there are two small gaps 1-2mm where the trim is not sitting flush against the A-Pillar. I didn’t notice it at first because the gaps are that small. It’s only when I taped it up and the noise stopped. On closer inspection that’s when I found the gaps.
its very strange as the left hand side sits flush.
either the trim isn’t manufactured correctly or the actual a-pillar isn’t? The are metal clips riveted into the A-pillar that might also be out of spec as the trim clips into them.
