2012 CLS63 AMG Lower Suspension system

Hi, can anyone recommend anyone with experience in lowering the stock air ride suspension system? Would like to decrease my CLS63 2012 by an inch or so.

Prefer Orange County or Los Angeles.

Thank you in advance.

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
I have only experience with installing an ELM on my previous CLS63. The whole process took less than 2 hours.

It's actually not that difficult even with minimal experience in splicing wires.
But of course, the unit I used was Renntech which had excellent installation instructions.

I'm hoping someone comes up with something soon too.

Does someone already build coilovers for the front or shorter springs?

I have heard that the new CLS has springs up front and airmatic in the rear. My friend with an E63, used the bracket method to lower the rear since there were no ELM's out when he got the car.

That is correct.
The non-AMG 2012 CLS, however, continues to use the airmatic suspension on all four corners.

Springs up front and airmatic in the back - very interesting move.

If not mistaken, they already did this with the E63 two or so years ago...but don't quote me on that.

I'm thinking I have to find someone with STAR who will lower my Airmatic a little more on the "low" setting... Could use a .5" drop

Any ideas?

You are correct... I have a W212 E63 2010 with steel springs up front and airmatic in the rear. What is sacrificed in comfort with the springs is gained in handling. The is combo is much better than the Pigmatic 2 axle configuration IMHO. I had a W211 E55 (all airmatic) and it did not handle remotely like the W212. Im glad Benz went this way.

I think a member here used Brabus springs up front on his CLS63 (2012) and a module in the rear. I personally dropped my W212 with springs up front and link adjustments in the rear. Its been like that for a year and it drives great and looks even better.

No doubt, your E63 rules vic.
Thanks for confirming.

I think it's "jeffrb".
He already has his CLS63 (C218) with Brabus springs up front and ELM in the rear.
