Joined the club and bought a launch edition cls63

just picked up a launch two days ago... traded in my mas gt and haven't regretted it since. had a 06 cls500 in the past and its been probably my fav car over my old vantage and mas. only thing i'm worried about is the matte finish and if it somehow gets scratched or chipped if i can properly match the color. not having a clear coat means i can't buff anything out. i'll post more pics later

and for ish and giggles here was a pic of my old cls

my old vantage which i loved but build quality was junk

and my mas

There actualy is a clear coat. These matte paints, actually the clear coat is what gives it the matte look. The "paint" is normal. You cannot buff, or even wax these, as it will change the "gloss" of the finish.

Welcome to the club and congrats. You can pay for a 5 year protection plan from the dealer for the matte finish. You can take the car in twice a year and they will fix any scratch, ding or dent under 4 inches for 5 years. I highly recommend it. Also get the rim and tire protection good for 5 years and unlimited replacement. I think it will pay for itself in the northeast.

btw anyone notice the owners manual is the biggest POS ? Nothing seems to be correct or clear on it. Tried to program the homelink and they didn't even give instructions for rolling code garage door openers. and i have no clue how to work the active parking.

Dont use the manual. Press and hold the two outside buttons for 30 seconds then release both. Press the button you want to program and release after it flashes then point your remote towards home link and press the button on remote and hold till light on home link goes green.

Then press the learn button on garage door and within 30 seconds press the button you just programmed on home link.

i thought it sounded great to, the rims protection plan, until i asked them to send me the terms and conditions, it doesnt cover cosmetic damage, ie. curb rash...
