Just imagine when the software has been optimized, downpipes + further developments.
I'm betting we will see a 1000+ HP CLS/E by the end of 2012 when one of the big tuning companies exchange the turbos.

1000hp is too much, 800hp would be realastic withoout opening the engine.
i don't think stock internals can handle that much.

Last night, a RENNtech modified CLS63 making nearly 700 horsepower ran the 1/4 mile in 10.98 @ 129.40 mph (208 kmh), making it the World’s Fastest CLS63. This is the same CLS63 that ran 11.21 @ 126 mph with only a tune and drag radials about a month ago. Since the 11.21 pass, RENNtech added a RENNtech high flow exhaust and a limited slip differential. The launch method used was same as before which consisted of placing the transmission in S+ (Sport Plus mode), and launching off the line from an idle (Launch Control was not used). Ahh no 1 else noticed the 60'
1.79 Dayummm this CLS63 has a 10.58 in her
easily when that 60' is dropped to a more respectable 1.60 (as most know every tenth off 60' is doubled on back end, so drop that 1.79 by nearly (2) tenths = (4) tenths off 1/4 E/T)

As far as I know the gearbox is the one giving up first so it all depends on how much punishment the MCT can stand up to.
I stand by my statement. There's going to be a 1000 HP CLS or E class by the end of 2012. Let the bets begin

well benz engines are not like the 911 & GTR, don't forget it is based on the NA 5.5L engine.

MCT can't handle more than 830lbs of TQ as it was confirmed by others.
1000hp may be acheivable but not reliable.

i am talking about DD car with WOT all the time
