First off, these are my 3rd or 4th set of ForgeStars - absolutely love the wheels / company. I think they look incredible, and they're very fairly priced. I'd recommend them to anyone.

On another note - Nitto Invos have HUGE sidewalls (these even rub they're so tall). So that's why they look a little off-kilter. I think with a shorter sidewall (Invo or otherwise), they'll look even better.

Whats the profile set up on the pics? 35 front and 30 rear?

That sounds right, but I don't remember off the top of my head.

I am trying to decide between 35/30 and 30/25. I am leaning toward the former to save my rims and ride qual. What are the pros/cons of each ?

Here are my opinions:

1. If you avoid the potholes you can see, your wheels (even with 25-series sidewalls) should be ok (in my experience)

2. I would / have / will again sacrifice ride quality to ensure my tires won't rub

3. Unless you have a fitment guarantee in writing, or your tire people love you, make clearance (no rubbing) your top priority

So, I'd say go 25/30. And smaller tires never looked worse (generally)

If you go 20's you need/should run 30 fronts and 25 rears... this will keep the overall diameter similar or the same as the factory set up (whether you have 18's or 19's).

I run 20x9 and 20x10 255x30 and 295x25 tires on my E63.

On the CLS, which you run a wider wheel and tire, I run 255x30 and 305x25 on 20's.

But with the smaller sidewall, as mentioned, you run a greater chance of wheel bending depending on your roads.

They're still around - I have more wheels / tires in my shed than anyone would ever really need

no doubt....
in this picture....the tires (like Vic pointed out) are big and clunky
looking.....making it look weird to me anyway....
picture is still stunning, but this angle is weird for the wheel/tire setup

Thanks. My problem is also tire size. I really want to run Michelin pilot super sports and they have 255/35/20 and 285/30/20 but no 255 /30 for the front. Only 265/30/20. I think these may be a bit wide. The shop I used recommended the 35/30 setup as they have run it would good success. I am running it now with some "loaner " tires.

35/30 is too tall for 20's--- your diameter will be almost an inch too high.

Thanks for the response and please pardon my newbie question, but what are the consequences of a diameter an inch too high? I will be lowering the car.

Just want to confirm what 35/30 exactly mean. Are you in fact running, as a "test", 255/35-20 & 285/30-20 F/R tires? That is a 27" front diameter!!! If it is on W212 E63, then I do not see how its possible. (I know its a CLS63 board, but signature states E63).

Possible rubbing on thicker rubber is one thing Id worry about. Looks is another with the larger sidewalls. Also your speedo will be off (slower) since the rolling diameter is taller.
