Question WONT FIT - Michelin Pilot Super Sports

getting ready for a better set of tires on the CLS63.

the stock rear setup is 285 30 19 with continentals.

unfortunately michelin pilot super sports only come in

295/30ZR19 and 275/30ZR19 in 30s

they have the PS2 and the PS "AF".

i've owned the PSS and the PS2 and personally prefer the PSS. not sure what the PS "AF"s are.

suggestions?

If 295's fit without rubbing, then I would go with that size.
How wide are the OEM wheels?

They should fit if you are not lowered- the ET 47 in the rear allows for more room and sidewall. It may look funny though.

If you go to the tire mfr's website, they outline approved wheel widths. 295 is fine for our stockers, IIRC.

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
Good choice!
I love Michelin's PSS.

Best tire I've had on a sedan...oh I'm sorry, "4-door coupe".

I've also got 295, but they're 25 series, not 30.

You'll be perfectly fine on the stocks with no rubbing issues.

i would think it would be better to go with a 295/30 in the rear - would only be 0.2" taller tire diameter than stock.

a 285/25 would be almost a full inch shorter tire than stock...

youd get probably more wheel spin? no?

In Saeedg48's case, yes. He should stay with 30.

I've got aftermarket wheels.
Specifically, I'm running 295/25-21 Pilot Super Sports.

yeah, i definately couldnt go there myself... 295/25 = 73. 75 mm sidewall!!

must look like a rubber band on 21's!!!

what about just switching out the stock rear 285/30 for a 295/30 ?

and leaving the fronts as is.

anyone done this?

That should be perfectly fine.
What will end up happening is that you'll have a slightly larger overall diameter in the rear.

285 * 30% = 85.5mm
295 * 30% = 88.5mm

Which means, you'll end up with approximately 0.2 or 0.3 inches larger in overall diamter.
