2012 CLS 63 - RT vs 2012 Porsche Turbo PDK - FVD
I have a renntech tuned '12 CLS 63 and recently traded my '11 Porsche GT3 for a '12 Turbo PDK. It's going in for a FVD tune tomorrow. Any thoughts on outcome of a race between the two? From a standing start I know the Turbo will demolish the CLS due to 4wd, and the stock Conti 5Ps on the CLS suck really bad. The 1/4 mile of the Turbo S stock is impressive and this will have even more power.
Also got a warning to add a qt of oil to the CLS. I guess this thing burns oil like the 65s did.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Rolling start should be an interesting race, both cars are insanely fast but I have a hunch the 997TT would be faster due to the tune and PDK transmission.
These engines burn oil during the first few thousand miles, just fill it up with 1/2-1 quart of Mobil 1 0W-40, ever time the check engine oil pops up.

997.2 TT S traps around 128 and does 0-100 in the low 6's. The car should pull nicely and then hold its lead into higher speeds. But as you get into the 130's Id fathom the the CLS63TT would start to catch up.
Gregs vid (gripforce) showed he can pull on a 458... and I think a 458 and a Turbo S is a good long distance run.
Dig there is zero chance. And as you mentioned you have a non S that will be tuned to have more power than an S so I think your P car will prevail.
Down Low- P car
Way up top (150 plus)- close
I have a PDK with EvomsIT and its faster than an S and it kills my CLS63 PP (non tune). But you could have guessed that easiliy

I have done a rolling race between both my CLS63 Brabus tune and my tuned GT2, and poor CLS63 didn't even have a chance to breath it was a KO big time, I will post that video after we do the new turbo upgrades so we can give the CLS another chance

The GT2 is a good bit lighter than the Turbo and even more potent tuned. Perhaps the CLS will fare a little better, though will probably still lose.
Will be a fun race either way.

Finally some results. Tracks are opening now and weather is good. Got both my cars to the track today and ran them. Here's the results. I was in Left lane both runs.
Best for the CLS was 11.705 @ 124.74 with a 2.038 60'. Best I could do with the stock tires. Traction problems. Renntech tuned with 570 whp dyno tested.
Best for 911 Turbo 10.787 @ 127.49 with a 1.670 60'. Also on stock rubber, but AWD and tires are wider too. FVD tune, claimed 560 crank hp. Not dyno tested it yet.
Porsche put some magic in the 997.2 turbos even excluding the ET, where the CLS never stood a chance, where a Renntech tuned one with 570whp isn't keeping up with one with a mild tune. Maybe if it got deeper into the tripple digits the CLS could pull ahead.
