LSD w/o PP?

Sacrifices will have to be made searching for a cls63 out of stock. In reality, there’s not many cars available in inventory (It would be hard to wait on an order car at this point) . The car will be a daily driver, never modified, and never tracked. (I guess I’m the old boring one in the group!) The car probably will not have the performance package. If the car does not have the performance package is not having LSD a deal killer? How would the car handle differently with vs without LSD? Are there major issues w/o LSD? Thanks for your input, I need all the help I can get as this is a big decision for me.

What part of the country do you live it? Personally when spending this kind of money on a car I wait until I get exactly what I want...and I waited 8 months for the one I have now which has every option there is. Are you crunched for time on getting a new ride?

Patience is not one of my strong points! Are you saying LSD is extremely important in the auto? I’m in the Southwest. If it’s that important I can order, I just don’t want to…you know, I want it now!

Think about having 518 lb/ft of torque to one wheel -- that's the scenario that convinced me to get the LSD. I have no interest in spinning wheels any more than necessary. In my opinion, it's a must for a vehicle with this amount of power. It should be standard.

you should get the lsd. in my experience with mercedes and their high torqued cars it's really hard to put most of the power down most of the time.

If I floor it at a full stop or very low speed, there is some minor slippage for a second, but it's "limited"

the problem with going all out with this car is there is no room to do so, before you know it your doing 120 and the cozzers will be around

Besides the LSD for putting the torque to the road, the most noticeable feeling is handling/corning with LSD. It’s worth the wait and money not to mention the bragging rights with a rare optioned car.

This.

Most often in these LSD discussions comes dialogue about launches and spinning wheels which is appropriate. But LSD serves a huge purpose in turns too where wheel slippage can be prevalent.

thats probably tru, ive let off on a few freeway on/offramps in fear of losing the rear end, though i do not drive with ESP all the way off, just usually in sport handling mode or normal esp mode ( which between the two, i havent noticed much difference) but then again it might be because my right foot might be coming off the gas pedal

ESP is programed differently for LSD cars which
gives you an improvement in cornering

BTW----it's suicidal to drive with ESP off (dyno mode)

Would like to hear some comments/opinions from current CLS63 owners that DO NOT have the LSD option. Is it a big issue not having it? Do you wish you had LSD?

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
MB really needs to make the LSD a standard equipment in the AMG cars.
