For Sale: Factory Limited Slip Differential | 2012 CLS63
hey guys i'm selling my optional limited slip differential. if you weren't able to get this from the dealer now's the time. i'm willing to do a trade for your stock differential + $2,360.
i'm located in southern california, a local trade would be preferred.
at the time of trade we can have whatever shop preferably BenzWerks do the swap for us. car only has a few thousand miles on it.

it works wonders but i'm taking a different route on my car.

all cars have differentials. yours doesn't have a limited slip differential. if you'd like mine please pm me and we can meet up for the trade + cash. i will use the cash for a aftermarket track differential setup.

i'm not, how much is this at the dealer? the dealer sells this part at the factory there's no way they can do a conversion at the dealership. believe me i tried when i was acquiring my car. so it's listed at the price for convenience.

Somehow, the dealer wouldn't order this part to be installed. However, I have heard the oem LSD, though well engineered, is a friction-based one that will eventually wear out and need replacement despite regular maintenance. However, aftermarket ones like Quaife is mechanical-based and will never need replacement.
Overall, it's just strange that our 500+ hp cars don't come with LSD as standard. Instead, we probably have an open differential like my near-20 year old RWD Nissan: PITA to drive on wintry road unless you like crazy fishtailing. I would hope AMG can strike up a deal with Quaife and make it their oem LSD. I'll be all over it if that's the case.
