is Rentech the best tune??

There is no such thing as a "best tune".
Is Renntech a good tuner? Yes.
Are there other tunes that have proven results? Yes.
This is a difficult question to answer, my advice would be to do some research. People with different tunes will give you different answers.

Here is the conclusion I came to:
You find a company that you trust and that will stand behind their tune. I narrowed it down to 3 that I considered solid.
_AMG_ is an OE guy and I went Renntech and I'm sure he's as happy as I am...

I did a lot of research on this that started with a thread that got a little out of hand. _AMG_ you were there...

As long as your happy with which ever tuner you go with then that's all that matters.
Renntech has done an amazing job with these M157 monsters!

From Eli 55 plug/tune issue be somewhat wiser to consider a tune:
1. Does not break the seal on the ECU
2. MB Star Diagnostic is not locked out of ECU
3. Does not push the Engine to its limits (engine should last 150K mi)
4. ECU can return to stock (need company to be around for at least 5 yrs)
4. Warranty (read the fine print)

As far as the other points as it relates to the ECU I can add this:
I brought my car into the dealer, after the Renntech tune, and they put her through star diagnostics. It was in fact a bad spark plug and they fixed it under warranty. I had no issues whatsoever.
Also - We all know our beloved CLS is one fat *ss biatch to get moving but with a tune you'll run side by side with most of the best...until you have to turn anyway...
I'll be doing SBS at Willow in a couple of weeks. Will post videos of what AMG + Renntech can do...

Ali's time with WOT is something that would be very hard to match so I'd say he pushed it to the extremes.

Personally though I have no concerns. I either mod my favorite car and take my chances or I spend at least 50K more on a car that comes with the same performance. So the way I see it, until I blow my engine, I'm ahead...
And who am I kidding...I would tune the more expensive car too...
