Is it just me? Or is Car & Driver totally biased when judging MB's??
Got latest C&D couple days ago opened my Subscription to see latest match up testing 2014 CLS63 AMG S-MODEL AWD / 2014 BMW M6 GRAN COUPE / Audi RS7
MB HP 577 TQ 590
BMW HP 552 TQ 502
AUDI HP 560 TQ 516
Now w/out even reading article I knew from countless prior C&D match ups MB would rank DEAD LAST & after reading... Yup MB DEAD LAST what a JOKE
Audi wins! BMW 2nd & MB interesting LAME acceleration data MB runs BEST 0-60 @ 3.2 BEST 0-100 @ 7.7 BEST 50-70 @ 2.7 BEST 0-30 @ 1.3 but looses by almost 1/2 second to Audi in 0-130 Audi has better gearing & much, much wider front tires 275's up front vs MB's puny 255's so possibly better traction for Audi etc..
Both use Automatic trans vs BMW's Dual Clutch & MB has lowest LBS per HP @ 7.6 lbs vs Audi @ 8.0 lbs Both Audi & MB are AWD so it's NOT extra drag @ speed, Audi weighs 4453 vs MB 4409
Though interesting BOTH Audi & BMW come equiped w/lighter Ceramic brake option while MB's equiped w/Standard heavier steel rotors on the AMG-S model? We all know Ceramic rotors unsprung weight savings can easily shave 2 tenths off all acelleration times so clearly NOT Apples to Apples testing here..
Are we to believe MB stumbles on it's face 0-130 to give up the .02 sec lead in 0-60 & falls back further .03 sec in 0-130 Even though MB hits the 1/4 mile @ EXACT same time as Audi's 11.6 @ virtually same 122 mph vs Audi's 123 mph, so MB falls totally on face in the next 8 mph to loose to Audi's quickest to 130 mph by nearly HALF a Second? Total BS Bizzzzarrooo Land.. Me thinks they need to have there testing equipment verified etc
Furthermore they run the tests up to 130 mph, why NOT run the latest industry standard 60-130mph?? Who the hell cares about 0-30 50-70 5-60 etc

I don't know how the M6 GC can trap slightly higher on average than M5 and be in line with M6 coupe..
its heavier.. and wider 124MPH seems like a press car stunt
The RS7.. it was expected, since the S8 trapped about 118.
all 3 cars are very close in performance.. it does not matter to me. None of these cars will be stock..
I would own any of those cars and I won't feel any regret either.
I'm sticking to a pre-owned 2012 E63 with PP package.. for early next 2014 purchase.

The M6 GC's 124mph trap is 1mph higher than the fastest they tested the M5 (123mph). Maybe the carbon ceramic brakes on the M6 GC helped since it reduced 44lbs of unsprung weight, including 22lbs at the rear wheels helping the efficiency of the M6 GC to put its power to the ground.
cuz at this point skip over the M5/M6.. the M6 has the looks and speed.

I said it in the other thread; these reviews are entirely subjective. Follow the empirical comparos (as we would hope these are objective) and then make your own judgement via a test drive. Magazines are fun to read while on the shi.tter.
Why get all worked up especially if you dont own one of these cars or even if you did Id hope a magazine only provided a vague perspective in your buying decision if you did buy one of these cars.

NOT worked up Vic, lol just wanted to hear others feedback was basically same as mine, & that I wasn't being overly critical etc... PS CLS63 AMG V8tt 2012 - up will be mine & full build from Wiestec or AMS so that should explain my interest..

The M6 coupe is gorgeous (inside and out) and lighter than the GC or the M5. For me the M6 coupe just didn't work because I needed real backseats. Otherwise, I would be driving an M6 coupe right now.

Ha you got me there Vic!
I get it sean--- I just have known you for a long time and i could read your Katie Perry Roaaaaaaaaaaaaar in your post LOL I kid.
I love the M6--- side by side my M5 driven the same day on the same roads the M6 just feels much more connected as a GT cruiser than the M5 and thats saying alot cause the M5 is about as solid as a 4 door car gets. What is also odd is the throttle response (gears engaging) are just quicker on the initial WOT with the 6 too. I hit the throttle the car is just moving whereas the 5 has that split second delay. Who knows.
