My new HRE S101s

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

a tuned M157 will have how much tq? 800? High 700's... GTR's with that number have reinforcements right?
... oh, I forgot ... not even a 997.2TT PDK can touch your car ... Vic and I couldn't convince you ... but what do we know ... we only owned those slow *** sleds and speak of first hand experience
Pert, nice looking M5!

I know that it clearly not the case from a dig. I don't drink the MB coolaid like some others. I would love to do it from a roll and see what happens.I did own a 997S as previously stated and had extensive seat time in a 997TT. Bottom line was that current generation P car did not put a smile on my face and not everything is about speed or track numbers otherwise I would own a GTR.
I also do go out there and run my car on the drag to see how it performs. You will see my post soon about FL2K and my runs with Adrian's Renntech CLS but that is another subject.

... otherwise you would accept the fact that there are cars out there that just have a better package overall ... especially when it comes to handling and efficiency. You like drag racing ... cool ... all it takes is a fast car and a right foot. The only reason you suggest a roll race, is by the time the 997.2TT PDK is already on top of 2nd gear, you'd still be looking for traction
... what you would like is a lame 40mph 3 honk roll race ... who the f-ck drives that speed on a FWY
... but even than you could hang only for a little while ... with every shift you would fall further back. Anyone with "some" seat time in a 997.2TT PDK would know that ... like my friend Vic.It's all about efficiency ... not just big displacement and cool exhaust sound. I'll give you an example. An SL63 is about 300 pounds lighter than an F10 M5, has a 1.1 liter displacement advantage and still doesn't outrun it.
BTW, I own an M5. I know it's strength ... but just because I own that car doesn't mean I don't speak openly about it's weakness as well.
Fully aware that I am comparing tuned versus stock so no need to flame.
The 997TT is not a better overall package than the CLS (2Dr vs 4Dr), the Panamera TTS is a better competitor and I did look at it but spending 50K more does not make sense.
I would take an R8GT or AMV12 before I take a 991TT. Again, it's not all about numbers but the overall special connection you get with a car and that is obviously left for interpretation and individual taste. You should know something about that with your CLK63.
