Spark plugs?
My stock plugs held up for a bit but getting more and more cels,
Beside Renntech and weistec. Can somebody chime in and provide brand name and model numbers
Since I went Weistec I got there spark plugs and never had issue with plugs since June 2013. The good thing about Weistec spark plugs have bigger tip so it doesn't break and hold the power this engine make
I have no idea what Renntech using but Weistec use brisk spark plugs made exclusively for Weistec
And just for about USD 145 for 8 pcs

Btw thanks for the info that weistec are using Brisk
And why do we need the special tools to change the spark plugs on this m157 engine ?
Would you please take picture of that tools (i am a diy newbie) LOL

I remember reading the OEM plugs are aligned in a certain manner and not sure if that is easy to do when replacing with aftermarket ones. Whether it makes any difference I am not sure but presumably there is some reason why AMG does it.

I come from evo and supra world,
And i feel a little bit different here..
it is so hard, just to figure out
What spark plugs is working well with our engine
Without paying the "extra cash"
AMG is premium brand, seems that we have to pay more
people who has the knowledge (tuners) seems doesnt share for free
They tend to keep the secret, rebrand the plugs, sell it for more $
It was so easy to find the correct spark plugs for Evo, LOL
We just pay, for the plugs, thats all, no "premium tax"

I never heard that plugs can be aligned, just gapped properly

Indexing the spark plugs, its just for racer only
I am too lazy to do it, and the result is not significant
Less than 1% horsepower gain
My butt dyno, cannot feel the 1% , LOL
I never do it, even on my 1000 whp 2JZ
But i dont know, if this M157, can yield more from the right indexing
I am having no experience with this engine yet
And i ever read that tri, the MB technician ever mentioned that, the m157 doesnt need
To be indexed, only m256, with fuel stratified injection, need that
