Went to the strip, still hunting 10's

Hey guys,

Last night I stopped by PBIR for a few runs. I threw on Toyo R888's in the rear with PSS in front. I dropped a tenth from my previous best however, I lost 2 MPH in my trap. I really don't know what to attribute that to, any ideas welcome.

I ran 11.142 @ 124.5mph. my 60ft (1.78) only improved .02 of a second with the better tires. I was hoping to see a much bigger drop considering how much the conti's suck. It seemed like I only improved in the middle of the run up to the 1/8 mile.

Now, I await better tuning and a decision on down pipes.

how much difference did you notice from no tune to tune in the 1/4?

What's even odder is that you picked up 1mph in the 1/8, but lost 2 mph in the 1/4 compared to your last outing. Looks like you've lost some top end steam. Weather the same? Gas the same?

Yeah, very strange indeed Weather was just slightly warmer and I used the same gas station as the last time. The only thing I did differently was I installed Weistec air filters, but that would be an unlikely culprit, right? Oh, and I lowered the car with H&R springs and links, otherwise, the car is exactly the same as last time.

Huge difference, stock I ran 11.9 on my V-box. The car is a whole new animal with a tune.

that is a huge difference, although 11.9 is not that good for this car.

I should note, the 11.9 run was done on a side street with less than optimal conditions. I certainly believe it would have runs a couple tenths faster on the track.

Good job man...11.14 is not bad...you shaved off something..I think the Toyo's suck for 1/4 mile, they are meant for road course...you got to have at least 500 miles on them and i was told that they need to warm up before they start gripping. My best 60' on the Toyo R888 was 1.86...i'm gonnna get Nitto's or Mickey Thompsons...i think that would give the best 60'.

Thanks buddy, I think with DR your car will dip under 11's for sure. Let me know when your heading back to the track and I'll run with you. I have a buddy who is supercharging his C7 and he wants to run to PBIR in the next few weeks. I'll keep everyone posted.
