Just installed HR springs, it drops only 1/2 inch. The tech didn't have any problem to swap out the springs, the process was very smooth. On the other hand, the rear adjustable links, we thought it was easy but no it's not, it was a nightmare to snap it on. He had to remove the part by the plastic arm, snap it to the ball join, and then screw it back. And it took forever to nap on the ball join for the bottom one as well. It took over an hour to get it done. It needs some adjustment but he has to come back another day to do this. The design is bad, it has a secured ring inside that make it almost impossible to snap on. This is the item I bought from ebay.

They are a PITA to get on and off for the unseasoned. The first two times are gonna SUCK. But once you figure out how to get yourself INTO the wheel well and your hand positioning... it becomes a breeze. Also, use a set of snap ring pliers OR a large flat head screw driver to pry off the end that goes on the metal stud side. Once that side is free the end on the sensor itself is easy. Just twist it off (making damn sure to stabilize that plastic swiveling arm). And just to cover all bases... you ARE taking the retaining pin off before you press the link onto the car, right? I am saying this cuz I thought these were a pleasure to work with compared to the ones that come with the KW HAS kit. Yes, on the passenger side of the car it will be a PITA to put that retaining pin on.. close your eyes and go by feel

Yes, I used a long flat screw to pry off the bottom one by the metal first and them twisted it off the other side. No problem to get it off. Just had some hard time to snap it back on. Just order a set of long nose piler, hopefully it will help. Not much room to get the job done. Hopefully the next time I try, it will be easier. Thank you.

The picture on your eBay link shows the ends of the links outta focus... but I am pretty certain they look exactly the same as the extra set I got from eBay. I literally press them on with my fingers. They snap right on and off. No problems at all. That's why I was wondering if you had removed the retaining pin prior to putting them on. Good luck on your second try. It gets easier w/ practice.

Yes, I removed the external retaining pins. The internal locking rings remain inside the ball joint ends and I don't think they can be removed.

The instruction came with the links labeled "2010-2020 E63 AMG". I it fits the CLS W218 as well, right?

Hey guys, just noticed the vibration on my CLS. Is it normal? I guess it has something to do with adjustment the muffler shop did. They pushed everything behind the resonator a little bit forward to the front so that the muffler's tail pipe tips don't stick out to long. The 2 rubber hangers now incline a 30 degrees. So I guess it tired to pull back straight up. And this cause the vibration?

I can NOT tell you for certain that these parts are interchangeable... but, anyone who knows a thing or two about the w212 and w218... can tell you that they are basically the same car. If I am not mistaken... when shopping for KW HAS for these two model cars... they DO have different part numbers. However, if I had to guess... these links SHOULD be the same for both.

Thanks man. I feel a little better now. I thought something was wrong with mine. Some has this kind of vibration, some don't so I'm just wondering why. It's a little noisy when window down, idle at a stop so I don't know if that's because of the vibration or that's normal for a turbo resonator delete straight pips. Mine 07 E63 doesn't have this kind of vibration but it's not turbo. I might take her back to the muffler shop for them to take a look to make sure nothing came loose. Thanks again.

Check for leaks and water infiltration in the trunk around the taillamps.

Steering, suspension, brakes and cooling are generally OK across most models.
I am still wondering why you suggest to replace the main and aux batteries? Is this a known issue with CLS63 W218? Thanks.
